Hi guys, this is my first time posting anywhere regarding the subject of homebrewing, so, im sorry if i break any rule or say anything that sounds incorrect, anyway, i tryed to make 400ml worth of test enanthate with a concentration of 250mg/ml, 2% ba and 18% bb with grapseed oil.
I have a few questions i need to be clarified as i think it disnt come out to well..
1. What max temperature should the oil reach in the beaker when in the pan with water?
2. Whats ideal temperature for easy filtration?
3. How much vacuum peassure in PSI units can a bottle top filter handle beingnthe receiver bottle a large media glass bottle?
4. Is it normal for test enanthate to be completly clear while warm, but when it cools down to have a cloudy look?
Id appreciate very much some help. If any more info is needed please just ask, and alo, i can post pictures if needed.
Many thanks in advance

Try and refilter, the psi is usally between 6-8psi,temp if water is boiling wich shouldent!Condensation can get into your product and make it a little cloudy.Filtering temp is a little warm to the touch.Dont go to warm and damage the filter.Test E has a lower melting point than say test C,or prop. For melying points go to basskillers sight it will explain a lot more than i care to type.Good luck home brew is a great thing if done rite!!!!STAY STERILE AND SAFE

Also, could you tell me if its normal for the solution to be thick to the point its difficult to fill up a syringe with it?

Thanks in advance

I used a combo of GSO with BA and BB in a ratio of 2/18.
The syringes i used were 2,5ml, 5 ml and 10ml. In all of them oil resistance was similar

Regards

What gauge syringe the needle is what i need .if your haveing this much prob ,maby you should rethink what you getting into.where is the powder from?

If im not mistaken it was. 23 G needle. The powder source i cannot tell you but, i did a melting point test and everything turned out alright. Besides, the source is known between some members, its seems that its a legit one.

I pull the plunger out of the back and pour a ml or 2 into the syringe.I take the top off and then put the stopper back in,not the most steril but for me its worked well for yrs.If drawing into the syringe use a 21g and then switch over to a 23g if thats what you use.I buy the syringes with removeable needles, warm the oil before drawing makes the process easier. Did you get the cloudyness to go away?

Just make sure you're oil isnt too hot, it can damage the filter. I'd say just warm to the touch is fine. Just like Nophat said, if its tough to fiter check your source. I've never had a problem and I use .22 complete filter units with a vaccum. I use a media bottle with my ba/bb/gso/powder in it and put it in the oven at 150-220 degrees and every 5-10 take it out and swirl so its not constantly bombarded with heat.

I then pour it in the filter, cover with top, pump the filter (hand vaccum pump) and then wait to filter

Then I draw with a 60cc syringe coupled with an 18g needle (alot more smooth and easier), then switch out to a 18-23g (depending on if I use EO in the solution or not) before injecting into the vial, vented with a 25g needle (or anything that doesnt bore big holes).

You shouldnt have to worry about sterility so long as your process is clean. Wash hands, wear rubber gloves, surgeons mask (so you arent breathing on the open solution), disinfect area the procress is set up on (table, desk, counter, whatever), and be swift though accurate and careful. A little exposure to air wont be a worry unless youre in a dusty room or somewhere with alot of crap particles in the the air. Just be smart like a doctor would lol. All the materials are cheap too and IMO totally worth your health and peace of mind knowing you did everything you could to make sure what youre putting in your body is safe and sterile.
