Squats

I just finished doing squats for the first time in years, how do i avoid gimping around the office in the A.M. I know that i need to drink water and take naproxon. but when it comes to stretching, do I stretch before or after i squat? or do i strech the next morning, when i wake up all stiff.


and specifically, what streches should i be doing?

Any stretches should be done went the muscle is warmed up. Think of your muscles as if they are elastic bands. If they are too cold you can damage them. Stretching is always best when done soon after working out the muscle. You will find you will get a deeper stretch then too. What helps me is the deep tissue massage. The dense styrofoam cylinder that kids use in the pool work really well for this. Just roll your soar muscle over the tube--it will really hurt but I does help with recovery. As for the typical stretches..for quads, hams, calf
