Haha we posted pretty much at the same time. I apply tret at bed followed by a moisturizer as it dries my skin out like crazy and I only use it 3xweek. OP needs to watch American Psycho and learn Patrick Batemans skin regimen.
Haha. Exactly. If you want to look good, it takes dedication and discipline.
There are different tretinoin products. Gels and creams. Some are better than others, but they will equally benefit your skin and accomplish the same end result. Some of the creams are powerful but not as irritating. Using a light moisturizer (Cetaphil is actually very good) is important because you will peel and the skin gets tight.
To the OP especially:
You have to go aggressive at first, and then the maintenance is easy. Don't use Tretinoin once and wait for magic. Do it until you peel, and can't handle it. Then wait. And jump back on it.
Maybe do this in the winter time or when it's not sunny. Tretinoin and sun don't mix well. You have to resurface your skin and then give yourself enough time to heal, and then eventually you can handle the sun with no problems.
Apply Tretinoin as many days in a row as possible, then back off. The schedule can and will vary depending on what you can handle. You will look like a red lobster at times, but just deal with it. The schedule can be like 2 on 2 off, 3 on 1 off, 3 on 2 off, 4 on 2 off. You can do any variety of 1-4+ days on Tretinoin and 1-7+ days off. The key is to get ahead of the skin turnover and make it turnover again.
The goal should be to totally resurface the skin. Then you only have to maintain.....once in awhile. Sometimes you will only need do it a couple times a week and sometimes you can skip a month or two months or longer. But you have to get deep into it, and change your face with Tretinoin. It takes time, maybe a couple of months (but you'll see results immediately. You will be glowing, healthy looking. The best version of your skin).
Skincare is easy when you know you have some Tretinoin. If you could only take one skin care item with you, it would be this one.
Also, BGpharma in the source forum sells tretinoin gel.
