Rectus Femoris strain

I strained what seems like my rectus femoris during leg press today. I felt a slight pain at the bottom of one of my reps and after the workout could tell it’s strained.

It’s a little sore to the touch and hurts to flex my quad. Not unbearable pain but it’s painful. It hurts on my upper front quad which is why I think it’s the rectus femoris.

Any idea how long something like this takes to recover? Anyone else been through this?

I also had this problem once.
I can advise you from experience to wait until the pain is gone.

For me it took about 2 weeks, but I also ignored the pain at first and continued.

If you wait from the beginning, the pain should be gone in 5 to 7 days.
If not, you should go to the doctor.

3 days since injury now. Pain is almost gone. Very slight if I stretch the quad or press really hard on it. I have legs in 4 days but I think I'll skip this leg day, and hit it the week after with light weight to see how it feels.

Forgot to add, the pain was very bad the day after the injury. Super stiff quad. Pulling my foot back to 90 degrees was painful because it was pulling on the quad. Basically any sort of stretch on the quad was causing a lot of pain. Pain went down significantly every day since then.

Very good, I hope all remains well

Good idea to skip the next leg that.
Then everything should be fine again soon.
Listen to your body.
