Really disappointed

Saw a Urologist last week and he checked me out and drew blood. Well he acted kind of nonchalant about the whole TRT thing and said that my level of 264 was low-normal whereas I have read many places anything below 300 should be considered low (especially at 33 years of age). Even with the numerous symptoms I have I guess that doesn't matter.

Anyway... got *some* of the blood test back as the physician *forgot* to ask for free test, SHBG, Estradiol. LH was 2.3, FSH was 2.4, and Prolactin was at 9. If anyone has any feedback on those numbers I would appreciate it.

I should be getting the other numbers back this week.

Anyway I get the feeling this doctor frowns on TRT but we shall see.

264ng/dl sucks I would go see another doctor or you could get your test results and send them to a TRT speacialist for review.

Will post what I have so far

Range 241 - 827

FSH

Yeah I did that

my GP is in that sticky. He blew me off for a second opinion to this guy when my Total test came back at 264.

I was at 320 ng/dl and my doc started injections that day.

Unfortunately, all a physician has to do is to provide his/her name and office address, and they get on that list. There are absolutely no requirements for qualification. Your PCP should be more than willing to provide Androgel at that T level.

Well

turns out the doc didn't have much choice. My total test came back this time at 220 (260 - 1000) and free test was 45.2 (50 - 110). Got my first shot last Friday.

The only thing that concerns me is that he wants to do 400mg of Test Cyp once a month. Won't that make me crash back to crappy levels after a couple of weeks?

Wont work bro, test cyp is only active in the body for 14-16 days! If you really want to feel your best he should do 100 mg a week to keep your test levels stable.
At 400 mg once a month he is going to have you feeling like shit for two weeks out of the month to answer your question.
Is he going to write a script or do you have to go to the office for the injection? If he gives you a script it is a non-issue just split the dosage accordingly.

Yes. Your levels toward the end of the month will actually be lower than when you started. You will also experience great increases in estrogens the first week.

If you cannot get him to do weekly injections, or at least every other week, then try to switch to a daily product, such as Androgel.

Right now

I have to go to the office. I will talk to him about adjusting it then even if he would do 200mg every two weeks.

I would love to use SWALE but my insurance is picking this up so I need to go that way.

I am leery of the Androgel due to the fact that I have a young child. I know it is supposedly safe but I would hate to expose him to test.

I guess I will try to talk to my Doc about either giving me a prescription or rationing the shots out over time.

Thanks for the insight guys I sure do appreciate it.

200 MG every two weeks will still leave you feeling tired and run down after 10-12 days due to the spike effect. After the intial injection your test levels will rise and then after 7-8 days they will begin to fall so at around day 14 the effect of the injection is gone leaving you with several days of low test levels. A weekly injection will give you stable test levels with no ups or downs. My guesss is you are not giving your doc enough credit, talk to him about the therapy very openly and ask honest questions even write them down, but dont attack his knowledge he is still the doc!
