Questions about bulk orders

So, I have been reading this forum and with the recession sucking so badly I am really considering doing the homebrew thing. I had a couple questions before I get started. I want to brew my own Deca and Test Enanthate. Currently I know I can get 500 mg of each relatively cheaply. It is a HELL of a lot and I need to know a couple of things before I plop down the money. I also know enough to get stoppers, vials, .45 micron filters, pump, etc...

1) What is the shelf life on powders? I would have a hell of a time using that amount in 5 years, but would be willing to sacrifice half just due to the cost.

2) I want to use ethyl oleate for the oil. Will this increase the shelf life of the finished product, say if I make 20ml vials? Any ideas on shelf life since I see 3 years on some 10 ml vials?

3) I will be using 2% BA and 20% BB for the final mix. I am assuming this is pretty much standard?

4) Baking the gear...I know I should but does anyone know how much I degrade the potency by doing it?

500 mg is far too little to make sense, and I hope you didn't mean 500 grams either. (If you did, then you need to go away: you are radioactive.)

Actually, I apologize for the mistake...yes, that was 500 grams. I know it's a huge amount but I'd be willing to forsake some if the price is right...I am just unsure how much I would have to waste. Right now the price is competitive to make my own even if I had to waste over half of what I get...and I did the math...it would make a lot. More than what I would be comfotable making at one time, hence the shelf life questions...

You've found the wrong guy if the guy you've found will sell no less than 500 g.

Five hundred grams I would think totally, positively would put you, so far as law enforcement is concerned, into the category of possessing with intent to distribute. In fact I would be concerned that the person trying to sell that quantity is doing so precisely so as to set you up.

Shelf life isn't the problem: the problem is that this kind of quantity I believe would be seen as distributor-level. To say you would become a "person of interest" would I think be quite the understatement.

This isn't equivalent to buying a personal stash, which also is illegal but isn't as high of a law enforcement priority.

Hi Bill,

Actually, looking at it from the other way around, you are very right and I'll re-evaluate what I was trying to do. Looking at it from the LE perspective, that much would be a very bad idea, even though my intentions are just for myself. I will go ahead and try this once I can get the amount down to a reasonable level. At that point the questions will no longer be about shelf life.
