Pure Weight Loss Advice

Hi all, Im pretty new here but I've been lurking and reading for a while.

I need some advice on pure weight loss. Right now Im over 300 on a 6' 2" frame with no real muscle to speak up. Pretty much all fat. I want to get back to around 220 with good amount of muscle, but Im concerned mainly with weight loss right now as I need to lose at least 50 pounds to be able to withstand serious workouts and to help with shortness of breath, fatigue, etc. Im in my early 20s and if I do not lose this weight now, it will doom me for the rest of my life and I'll die early. Already taking multi-vitamins, chromium, ginseng, fish oil, garlic and an aspirin a day.

I've been on a low carb diet for a couple weeks now with some slight walking as excercise with OK success. I've been thinking of going with an ECA stack to accelerate my weight loss.

Does anyone else have any suggestions? A friend of mine suggested some test once a week to help out... but right now Im too afraid of clem or DNP.

Also with the recent banning of Ephedra I havent been able to find ANY ephedra in any store near me... even though it isnt outlawed yet! Lots of internet sites are out of it or stopped selling it too. Does anyone know of a good place to buy it?

I know satchboogie has some ephederine. But please do your research first. ECA will hvae you pumped for hours and really opens up your lungs. I know what you are going through cuz i recently lost a lot of weight and still put weight on easily so I have to watch my diet. Good luck to you and if you have any more questions then this is the place to ask.

I feel for you, big guy...I really do! I have had loved ones diagnosed as morbidly obese. Beating obesity is a very difficult thing, but I think deep down you know the outcome if you don't change things, right?

Before you start taking chemicals to help lose weight, you need to get a program that you can stick to. Eat frequently and eat healthy - make sure it's not shit food!!!, keep walking. Give it some time - I am sure you didn't accumulate that fat overnight, so getting rid of it won't happen over night, either. After you are able to stick with a program for a month or two, re-evaluate what you have been doing and see if you can increase workouts/intensity of workouts and maybe change your nutrient ratios (carbs vs fats vs protein). Being that you are in your 20's, your body will show resilience if you let it. There's no magic bullet. Being 300 pounds, 6'2 with no real muscle, and getting short of breath from everyday activities means you aren't really ready for ECA and don't even think about DNP. You don't need drugs (yet, if ever).

It'll take a very supportive group, help from friends and loved ones. I wish you the best! And please get a check-up from a qualified physician. It might not be a bad idea to have them do a little blood work to make sure your hormones (sex homrones, thryoid, etc) are in the proper range.

All the best!!

Well said, but I must disagree with you saying "you don't need drugs(yet, if ever)"
it's if ever part I question

After you drop about 40 to 50 pounds from eating right and working out.... your body should be in much better condition. At that point if youre in good physical shape an ECA stack done right can't hurt. I cut down pretty good and descent energy for workouts using them of the last 5 years.

But as JP said first go see a qualified physician.... so you know where you are.

Peace hope this helps

Big Libby - good point, let me rephrase my comments on drugs.

Drugs can and do come into play for weightloss at one point or another. For this fella, I think he need to break himself of old habits that are conducive to e gaining fat. Once the mindset has shifted, drugs can come into play.
As far as the ECA stack goes...the deaths attributed to ephedra/ine are usually in those peoples with other health problems (heat stroke, prior heart problems, hypertension, yadda, yadda).

If you doc deems you as having normal blood pressure, a non ephedra based fat burner might be worth looking into in the immediate. I myself love ECA stacks, as I know what they do for me. But as most will agree, don't assume you are healthy enough to take such a stimulant. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE see a doc.

Best wishes

I actually have seen a couple docs recently. Bloodwork is mostly fine. My total cholesterol is 216 which actually is down from a couple years ago when it was 241. The only thing that is out of normal range is the LDL and even that isnt too high. Thyroid is fine. My liver enzymes are a bit elevated which the doctor attributes to a fatty liver.

My blood pressure is borderline. Not officially high, but most times when it is taken it is higher than your average healthy person. Also, my resting pulse is high... both things my doctor attributes to being out of shape.

I had a bunch of cardiac tests done recently because of chest pain (which turned out to be reflux) and thankfully my ticker is fully healthy.

I have lost alot of weight on atkins before when I triple dosed on ephedra but Im too afraid to do that again. Im looking at the non-ephedra stuff as well... but does that stuff even work? Most of my reading seems to suggest that non-ephedra stacks consist of chromium, caffine, and herbs which really dont do much. Im thinking a lower dose ECA stack might be right for me starting off.

Yea, you dont want to do OD's of ephederine. I dont buy that non ephedra crap, you can start taking some green tea if you want and use stevina with it if you like it sweetened. green tea has thermogenic properties. And those new subway wraps are awesome, just dont get mayo on them. that stuff is deadly. let us know how it goes. also, how much ephederine were you taking before?

Hey -

Take some before and after pics and stick with one product throughout. Be it crystal light or subway or hydroxycut or whatever. Aside from the health benefits of getting your tail into shape, it could lead to other avenues. (hello?! Jared probably made a killing with his whole subway thing).

I am sure we all look forward to hearing your results and soon being able to show out of shape people, "SEE!!! YEAH! It's possible!"

Don't give up!!!

Thanks for all the words of encouragement guys.

A couple years ago I lost a bunch of weight on atkins/ephedra but gained it all back. I was triple dosing on two different kinds of ephedra pills. So I was really taking about 4 times what you should. I still have one of the bottles. It was that Twinlab Metabolift stuff (rip off of Metabolife I guess). Looks like a standard herbal ECA stack with 20 mg ephendrine and 200 caffine each pill with willow bark and chromium. I was taking 6 of those a day (dose was one three times) along with 12 pills that had ephedra and guarana in them, but the dose for them was two 3 times a day. So I was double dosing twice over, when I should have been taking just one or the other at standard dosage.

Yeah, it made me feel like shit. I remember one time I tried to play basketball with my friends on it and I almost passed out after 5 minutes.

Well, there's your problem. It ain't a diet, it's a lifestyle. This is why I am not too big of a fan of keto diets(thouhg I'm employing one right now). Basically, bro, you have to find a permanent way to eat. You're clearly not a fitness enthusiast, so you just need to find a healthy, maintanable way to eat.

Good point

I think if you "change you lifestyle" you whole life becomes more enjoyable.
Exp. When I first started working out I weighed 112pound @ 5'10".... at that time I was 20 years old. Just turned 26 and Im 181 @7-8% off cycle.

My point is that I feel better about life in general.... my self confidence has gone through the roof.

Set reasonable goals, then try your hardest to make them happen. You control everything... it's ether in you or it's not

Good luck in you endeavors

Yea. "diets" are only temporary. you need to change your eating habits for good. I lost 30 pounds since the summer from walking,ECA, and good diet. Most of the weight was droped in the first 3 weeks and its not coming back because I continue to eat good. There are alot of great foods out there low in fat and carbs, just gotta read nutrition labels. The only time I get tempted to eat some junk is when its in the house some time, another thing is when I got a girl I tend to gain weight then when we break up I lose it. bad cycle Im going to avoid next chick. Thye best thing I like about ECA is you dont eat nearly as much, that was one thing i never expected when first taking it, its great since I have a big appetite.

I've been walking about 20-30 minutes a day for starters.

Today is the first day I took ephedra in like 2 years. I took 1 pill of that old (expired) ECA stack Metabolift. Felt pretty crappy and jittery an hour or so after for a while, but then I felt energy and felt good. Felt like my heart rate took a jump and the uneasiness flutter that goes along with a skipped beat once. So I think I'll keep it at 1-2 pills a day until I get in better shape or find the ephedra free stuff that works.

Does anyone have any recommendations fior specific kinds of ephedra free? I am still afraid of the side effects.

i hear xenedrine is still good even though its ephedera free. I would look at green tea supplements, the stuff works great and raises metabolism. I found that cayeene pepper caps and apple cider vinager tabs work well too, take them before you go for your walk.
