Protein per serving

I was told that the body can only use so much protein per serving what is the amount of protein that the body can absorb per serving or in certain amount of time?

Impossible to predict. I've read sites that state it's 30-40g. I think that's bullshit.

There's actually a post on the subject on this forum. Not quite sure where it's gone though...
 
I have never seen a study showing how much can be used. Would have to do with a persons size and how fast there digestive tract worked and the amount of enzymes produced I would guess.

ive heard it was more like 75g of protein

Where did you gewt the 40 gram/serveing at. I have looked for that for a while and all Ive come up with is decades ago Lou Ferrigno said it in an article and it has been quoted as fact ever since.

Lyle McDonald, and he probably got it directly from the research of Peter Lemon (the foremost expert in protein ultilization in athletes).
 
I was reading that 1.2g per pound of body weight, and on carb depletion you can go as high as 1.5-2g.

I have also read up to 70g per serving for people that really want to gain weight.
