Post Cyle Water/Glycogen loss vs Muscle loss

Finished up my first cycle 450 mg test. Im not a big guy and my goal was to gain 10 kg/22 lbs in 20 weeks which I did.

I was cutting last summer at 1,950 cals losing about a lb a week so I figured my maintence at the time pre blast was around 2,500 cals. I started my blast and bulk at 2,900 cals and weighed daily. If my weekly averages weren't going up I would add 100 cals of carbs. Finished my blast at 3,500 cals per day, 250 g protein 70g fat and the rest carbs. Carb sources were oats and white rice.

Food volume was fine until the last couple weeks when I started to get super full on the same amount of food. My HBA1C had also crept up from 5.2 to 5.5 and I have insulin resistance issues even without the bulk. Week 20 of my blast I dialed food back to 3,300 and in week 1 post blast I brought it to 3,100 just cause I was tired of eating.

Im entering week 3 post blast now and my weight has dropped about 2.5 kg. Did I reduce calories too much or is this just normal water, glycogen loss etc? Gym performance is still great still adding reps and weight each week. Am I just worried for nothing? I put so much work in during that blast bulk I hope im not screwing it up.

This is one of the reasons it’s important to keep a training log. If you aren’t already, consider starting one

If your performance isn’t dropping, it’s unlikely that you are losing contractile tissue and that your scale weight is reflecting a change in water retention.

Lower carbs = lower water

Lower gear = lower water

Thanks. Ya all my lifts/workout, cardio, weight, cals, BP, gear etc are all logged. I never ate so much clean food for that 20 week block and dont want to lose anything. I feel great though.
