Personal Trainer.

Looking for a personal trainer, who can help me achieve my goals and take my training to the next level.
I wonder if you can recommend someone!!!!

The most reliable personal trainer is YOU, that's not to suggest someone may not be beneficial.

I'm not being sarcastic since I wish you well, yet why does the volume increase exponentially in sports medicine physicians offices, health clubs, AAS forums the list is seemingly endless, after the "first of the year"?

The answer of course is personal resolutions for those with, lifelong, deficient dietary and exercise regimes.

The point is, IF your one of those whom are feeling guilty, understand save your money, because NO "personal trainer" can accomplish the task but you.

If not, there are several means of locating a qualified PT but be aware of the differing levels of training, the QUALIFICATIONS are not uniform, and currently, vary state by state.

PT - certificate; Typically only requires several MONTHS of education and experience.

PT - with an EARNED educational degree. The degree varies from AD to BS or BA.

Most have specialized "training" in sports education or ergonomics.
The degrees range from a BS in kinesiology to AD in physical education. The former is much more desirable IMO.

There are those who obtain a Masters degree in Physical Training, yet most are more involved in the BUSINESS aspect of "sports/exercise facilities".

Which educational degree best compliments your level of expertise is an unknown entity at present, but I would require any "personal trainer" to have a basic certificate unless all I needed was periodic spots, lol!

Ah the New Years resolution....almost a certainty that it will fail. I stopped making them years ago because like most people I just never followed through. So last year on Dec 21, 2011 I decided to make a commitment to myself to be healthier, eat right and exercise.

Anyway I found a PT helpful in the very beginning just to show me the ropes. Give me ideas, look at form, etc since I never really had that in the past. Since then I've been reading and learning and doing all on my own. I'm sure I could find someone to "motivate" me and setup some crazy workout routine that I'd inevitably hate and resent but honestly I've really enjoyed just learning and ramping up my weights/volume on my own over the past year.

The gym is therapeutic for me mentally and physically. I'd say a year and change after making this commitment my workouts are pretty damn hard on their own.

That said if you just want someone to motivate you understand when they're no longer there with you likely your motivation won't be either. I think most PTs are good for short term goals....

Been using it for years. I like that it has .gifs for every exercise so you can see proper form demonstrated. Great for anyone looking to switch up a routine as well.
