So i asked the missus to make me up my shake i have of an afternoon at work to get me thru the 4+ hours (depending on concrete/cranes etc) i go with out food. Anyway i cant blame her as such but the scoop is a 3g scoop it states it on the package but the recommended dose is anywhere from 250mg to 1000mg (stated on package).
Well 2 days in a row she had put a full rounded scoop of acetyl carnitine in my shake (mixed with protien and carbs), im guessing its over 6 grams.
This was monday and tuesday, come tuesday nite around 7pm i had major stomach cramps at one point i was carrying my daughter and dropped to my knees as if i was stabbed in the gut, then suddenly i shit my pants (haha grown man shit himself
). I spent tuesday nite on the toilets with massive abdominal cramps and all of wednesday and thursday in bed, today being friday im still home from work but feeling 75% better.
After doin some reading cause i had no idea why this had happened as my diet is identical each day. I searched this product and found the side effects for overstimulation
Side effects. People taking carnitine have reported a number of side effects, including:
Anyway i just wanted to share my exprience with the meso ppl, i know it was irresponsible on my behalf for not monitoring my supp intake or teaching my gf. But this is how easy gains can go down the drain or even worse serious fucking medical conditions. Ive dropped 3 to 4kg and havent trained for days.
