Anyone else here of new voting laws that are in effect in some states. Other states are trying for the same laws.
They require those who register to vote to show proof of citizenship and when showing up at the polls, to show a picture ID to verify you are who you say you are.
Personally I dont see a damn thing wrong with any of it. I think every state should adopt these laws. What is wrong with having to prove you are an Amercian ciitizen and showing proof of ID?!?!?!........here is what alot of democrats are saying, in particular a California dem (forget his name, ill find it later on).
They are saying (along with the ACLU) that this whole thing is "complete immigrant bashing along with trying to supress the black and elderly vote." Yes that is no bullshit, they are really saying that. They swear up and down that this is all a "dirty trick purpotrated by the republicans to keep themselves in office". HAHAHAHAHA can you beleive that shit?!
Our right to vote as Americans is what our country, our democracy, was founded on. It is one of the things we as AMERICANS, NOT illegal immigrants, are garaunteed. Where is the harm in protecting that sacred right? Why is it such a horrible hastle to have to show an ID when you get to the polls?
It is by no means immigrant bashing. Legal immigrants have the same rights we do, illegal immigrants SHOULD NOT have this right because they are living here ILLEGALLY, sucking away our tax dollars. And please, if you know, explain to me how showing an ID at the polls is against civil liberties, supressing the black vote, or supressing the elderly vote.
I think that people are so hell bent on getting the republican out of office that they need to rely on every single ILLEGAL vote that they can because they are losing in the polls. I think that NOT having to show proof of citizenship or an ID is actually a dirty trick that the democrats want to happen so they can get those extra votes from the ones whom they give handouts too. im having a hard time understanding why so many are against this. Let me hear your thoughts.

and no, this is not meant to be a political thread. i dont want to hear any "bush this and kerry that" bullshit. so please keep that to a minimum because i know everyone is sick of hearing it every day. stick to the issues at hand. thanks fellas
