Hey everyone, 45 year old from BC here. Been lifting for decades but getting older now, so I'm here to read up on injury recovery protocols for my shoulders, knees, and pretty much most of my body, haha. Not looking for sources or handouts, just here to learn from the vets and contribute where I can. Thanks for having me!

Ah yea thats how I jumped in so Ill help you.

I started with peptides BCP and TB500. These are anti-inflammatories. I went from 2-4 days downtime to maybe 1-2 day after using them for a month or so. That helped a lot to work out more consistently.

NPP & DECA... look them up. These are the big ones for joints and tendons. They are steroids so not something you just do without a careful thought out plan. Do your research. They work... I had no idea how well until I took them and then came off. The pain difference was big. I was dosing 100mg/wk of DECA. Many will recommend going higher.

Those are the big ones for me. AAS in general, will help you with recovery and inflammation as well. Im at a point now where I have almost no downtime and can work out daily, despite arthritis in knees, pinched nerves along spine, and 3 tears in the shoulders. I managed to "heal" two of my partial shoulder tears this past year with the stuff above (plus other common AAS) and lots of work at the gym. I went from maybe 50% usage to 95% today but it was painful to get there... doctors were unable to help me for over a decade.

Best of luck.

Man, that brings back memories. I learned the hard way about balancing this stuff.

Back in my hockey days, I ran a Winstrol-only cycle right before playoffs. I felt like a machine on the ice for weeks, cardio was insane, game play off the charts... and then I crashed HARD right as the cycle ended.

I didn't know enough back then to run a Test base, so I essentially shut myself down right before the most important games of the year. Then I rebounded and put on like 20lbs of water/sludge in 3 weeks.

That's exactly why I'm here now—trying to fix the old joints with BPC/TB-500 and do things the smart way this time around.

Do you feel the NPP is safer on the hairline than the old school stuff, or is it just as harsh?

Dude you are a madman... Hockey is too crazy for me.

NPP and DECA are the same thing, as far as im aware, with different esters attached. One has a short half life and the other a long half life. They should have similar impact on hair assuming dose based on release timing.

As far as im aware, Nandrolone based AAS are not particular harsh on hair but if I learned anything around here is everything is case by case basis. You will not know till you try... That said, they will worsen hair loss so its not like they are "safe" but they arent harsher than Testosterone in my experience. It will come down to dosage and your own genetics.

For Nandrolone based AAS like DECA/NPP/Tren the only real way stop hair loss from them is RU58831 topical. You can combine it with minoxidil topical or oral to thicken hair as well but Minox will not stop the binding itself. RU will.

For Test based AAS you can use finasteride or dutasteride. Those are very effective against them but your options are limited to Testosterone, EQ, Dianobol, and Turnibol and possible some less popular stuff im not aware of.

In my case, I am predisposed to hair loss and in my experience nandrolone based AAS dont make me shed and that includes Tren. But I dont do mega doses like some guys. Most I have done is about 180mg Tren and 150mg DECA together. This did not make me lose hair even with 360mg Test and 180mg Primo.

The one that destroy my hair is Anavar... which is supposed to be safest. I tried it twice and each time it made me shed like a dog in summer even at low doses of 20-25mg a day. So in other words, you wont know till you try them.

Just go slow and steady. We arent young bucks any more. Try different compounds and figure out what works best for you. But in terms of joints/ligaments, DECA or NPP are very effective to reduce pain. There is some evidence that other stuff might help, like Reta (see phase 2 clinical trials) and maybe HGH and its secretogogues at the right doses... but they will not be as dramatic as DECA/NPP. It takes time to build up during cycle, but once it does, the shit just works.
