Lab Results From HCG Protocol

My starting total testosterone was 360. I have been on HCG for four weeks
at 2500 IU per week. I do 5 shots of 500 iu of HCG per week. Here are my
lab results. Any thoughts on how to improve my results?

total testosterone 442 reference level (241-827)
free testosterone 9.7 reference level (7.2 -24)
estradiol 36 reference level (0 - 53)

Thinking about adding andrgel 5 gram a day to the mix. Should I lower
the HCG at that point? Also I want to bring the estradiol down as that
may be impacting my free T.

Wow...that is a lot of HCG, but I guess that dosage is not uncommon on HCG-only approaches to TRT.

How do you feel now compared to when you started?

You'll see that Swale is a big advocate of moderate amounts of Testosterone mixed with small amounts of HCG. What does your doc say about pursuing that approach?

Allow me to quote from Dr. Crisler (SWALE) regarding HCG:

"Many practitioners consider this incredible hormone treatment of choice for hypogonadotrophic (secondary) hypogonadism. Such certainly makes sense, as supplementing with a LH analog indeed increases testosterone production in patients who do not concurrently suffer primary hypogonadism. But often, upwards of 1000IU per day must be given to achieve the desired serum T level. Even then, for some unexplained reason, while serum T levels may be adequately elevated, the patients simply do not report realization of the benefits of TRT, when HCG is administered as sole TRT. You also run the risk of inducing LH insensitivity at that dosage, and therefore may actually cause primary hypogonadism while attempting to treat secondary hypogonadism. HCG, especially at higher doses, also dramatically increases aromatase activity, thus inappropriately elevating estrogens. Personally, I recommend never giving more than 500IU of HCG at a time."

So basically you won't feel a whole lot better, you risk inducing LH insensitivity, and you increase aromatase activity, and therefore risk increased estrogen. Please read Dr. Crisler's TRT: A Recipe for Success, stickied at the top of this forum, for alternative, complete protocol.

Considering your Test levels only went from 360 to 442, it sounds like you may already have induced LH insensitivity from too much HcG. Either that or you have primary hypogonadism and not secondary. If that's the case, you definitely need Androgel and need to cut back on the HcG drastically.

Earthdog--That is some old stuff from me! As my thinking has evolved, I have come to realize that it doesn;t tke much more than 250IU of HCG per day to maximimize the amount of T you can produce under its stimulation.

But good answers, guys.
