If you have run Halo pre contest ... how?

Never tried it before. Possible competition at last week of September pending world issues. Brief summary- 50 y/o equipped bench only lifter. Wont go in to life story but ran what was around back in the day (mostly sust, deca, d-bol, ) after 10 year layoff making a comeback. Been making good progress last 4 years with a couple of 500mg T blasts ( on TRT). Just finished up a Var run ( with TRT) and made some more good progress. Weight 179 (181 division) hit a solid legal paused 385 @ end of this cycle (var 40 mg/trt 175mg x 6weeks).
Will start another 500mg Test blast next week to carry me in to the competition end of September. Will probably throw var back in 5 weeks out but may hold out on it if gains are coming well from the Test only. Would like to experience Halo one time in my life as never used it before. As a Bench only guy I only work out 3 days a week + a rehab day. I read most only use Halo maybe 2-4 weeks out or so? How should I use it being that I only work out 3 days a week? I mostly rest recover the week before a meet. Do you take it that week? Any advice appreciated

I usually just start a few weeks out taking 20-30mg pre workout when I'm working up to peak doubles and triples trying to figure out my openers and second attempts. Then on meet day maybe 15mg about an hour before each set of lifts.

Sometimes I use it pre workout occasionally further out from a meet if I'm planning on rep PRs.

In your shoes I would definitely add the var 5 weeks out. Use the halo 20-30mg pre workout on the days you're going heavy or even pushing high volume. Like if you do what I do and hit some peak sets or rep PRs. None the deload week and then 30mg on meet day 60-90 minutes before your first bench attempt.

3-4 weeks out 10 mg Before PR’s and openers/mock meet Depending on how you do a prep. Meet day 10-30mg in multiple doses depending on experience levels with halo and how a guy feels. My last meet I took 10 mg in the morning with breakfast and 5 or 10mg after bench, I don’t remember exactly I’d have to dig up my log. This was my first time with halo. I found 5mg for a PR wasn’t enough
