You take a look at what is a reasonable approach.
For me the kind of person I am, if I was in charge of the country, I would have presented the autopsy reports from a large collection pathologists. Accessed the risk to certain populations and target them with information to keep them as safe as possible.
The science is there to back up the devastating effect it can have on certain limited groups of people. Trump didn't do a good job because he had Dr. Fauci on his team which imo wasn't all that impressive.
If you want real data, the kind of data I had access to working with pathologist for 25 years, you go to these types of physicians. They'll point out the destruction of lung tissue by showing biopsies. Where was Trump's pathologist team, instead we get a physician that sits at his desk all day reading and mostly telling us commonsense things that anyone could figure out. Wash your hands, wear a mask. Instead of showing us an electronmicrosopy image of the virus, of lung tissue destroyed, explaining in detail what happens with cytokines and how they create destruction. Showing the treatments available and how they work step by step, which is readily availible on the net, but this info is hidden because they don't want you to have access to drugs that will lessen your illness, from fear that you might not roll up your sleeve and allow your government full access to your body.
I'm not big on politicians.
However I think we need to have a lot less lawyers and conartists running this country and a lot more scientists and engineers running the show, because the time has come where lawyers are mostly bullshit artists, highly educated in the art of spin and lying. We live in a data driven world now, the age of science is here, at least have someone running this country that knows how to speak the language.
