Trump stoked division from the mad policies that came before. He rejected the racist white-man-bad narrative, and he put the US first in the context of the executive office. I don't like Trump because he was all talk, but I liked much of what he said and claimed to represent.
Joe isn't all talk. He isn't talk at all. He's going to do what he's told. Those mad policies Trump halfheartedly resisted will become policy under Biden. The oligarchs have won. What is and isn't American law, American culture, or American citizen is going to be what they say it is, and nothing else.
If the media doesn't cover it, the division won't exist in most people's eyes. Twenty million pissed off Trump supporters could march on DC tomorrow, and the media would ignore them.

That's simplistic and naive, IMO.
Trump is a bombastic, divisive loudmouth, absolutely, but all one has to do is look at Biden's voting record to see where his allegiances stand. The idea that he's going to "heal the country" is patently ridiculous.
Trump was a symptom of the political discontent in the US. You really expect a "more of the same" Wall Street politician to fix that discontent?
