How do I stop snacking?

Hi Meso folks,

Recently I've been having such a hard time keeping in shape as well as controlling what I eat. This time last year I was sitting at 14-16% bodyfat, 5ft9" and 84kg, training was 6 times a week, diet control was good.

Fast forward to this year with lockdown and gyms being shut I've lost the ability to keep a strict diet and seem to be snacking a lot more. I have always been a big eater and prior to covid I was very active but being at home all day has obviosuly meant my fitness isn't as good as it used to be. I'm now probably sitting around 24% bodyfat, 80kg and only exercise 4 or 5 times a week.

I believe the main issue is snacking, as I'm used to eating large amounts but what I'm not used to is being at home and not moving around so much all day.

So for those who also have issue, how have you learnt to control it or what have you found fills you up but is still healthy.
 
Ice cream has been a big killer for me, especially when the food in the fridge is running low.

Unfortunately all other members of the house eat it so its always there.
Have them get flavors you dont like, but they do. I had same issue. Until they got crappy gross flavors.
 
Crisps are also a bit of a problem. As much as I like them I know they're bad for me, but I won't ever go out the way and buy them.
 
I love ice cream too but been indulging more in simple snacks like carrot and celery sticks plus fruits.

I feel like reverting back to snacks like this will be way better for my energy levels, more consistent rather than sugar highs.

Before covid I would bring all the food to I needed and I couldn't get anything whilst there but now being at home there's always temptations around me
 
I would come up with a diet plan and stick to it. There’s something about having a schedule and a plan on paper that helps me mentally on how much I’m allowed to eat and when I can eat. If you’ve ever done a fast it’s much easier mentally if you wake up and know you’re not eating until a certain time. I kindof relate it to that.
If I wing it I will convince myself a snack is fine at least once throughout the day. You can still keep yourself well fed by adjusting your meal sizes but having a plan and holding yourself accountable is huge.
 
Food prep for the entire week. Also like you already kind of said it is a metter of not having unhealthy options in your house. I am a fat kid who impulse buys unhealthy junk food because it looks so good but then I feel guilty and give it away to my roommates lol. Or what about unhealthy sugary cereal like fruity pebbles, reeses puffs or cinnamon toast crunch lucky charms, etc. I love it but when I have it around i WILL wakeup in the middle of the night to piss and then smash out a few bowls. Don't grocery shop when you're hungry and when you get the urge to snack ride the wave out. Usually the urge passes after only a few minutes. Try to stay occupied and don't hang around others who snack if you can help it. Finally as a last resort look for a source who carries phentermine which is a diet drug for obese individuals but also possibly a mild amphetamine so it will totally kill your appetite. Unfortunately it will also make you feel cracked out that's why I say as a last resort and if you have issues with addiction you don't want to mess with it. Best of luck to you
 
Think about how badly you want to reach your body goals and march forward like a man possessed. Stop being an emotional mess about it and man up. Estro kinda high? If you cant stop you don't want it bad enough.
 
It’s a meme by now, but intermittent fasting can help you regulate your hunger. I’ve tried it and it worked for me. It’s hard to overeat when you only have 8 hours a day to shovel food in your mouth
 
I've also always struggled with an absolutely insane appetite, and the best thing I've ever done to control it is completely cutting out all carbs, as much as I love them. If you want go take it a step further and feel even more satisfied throughout the day, stick to strictly just meat/eggs/fish and veggies. It's like magic (for ms at least).
 
Pin him some tren while hes sleeping so he would beat the fuck out of your ass when he ll found your stealing his snacks, so you ll quit snacking
