Home brewers.. MCT vs GSO ?

I’ve been using grape seed oil as my carrier oil, but MCT oil seems like it flows much less viscous and smooth. Around here all of the top labs use grape seed oil, so I used grape seed oil as well.

What do you fellow home brewers use and why? Does MCT oil hold as well as gso? I tend to try to make concentrations on the high side, so ability to hold and not crash is very important for me.

All the GSO things I’ve made (which isn’t much) has held very well, but if the only difference between MCT and GSO is personal preference, I would prefer MCT over GSO.

just want to make sure I’m not missing or sacrificing anything to make the switch

thanks guys

Mct oil hands down bro!

Mct is all I brew with.. it will hold as good or better then grapeseed.. labs use grapeseed alot because most people have no bad reactions to it and it's cheaper then mct... mct is so smooth and clean when done right. If I pin 3ml with grapeseed I usually get a lump from.thw oil nothing to bad and painless.. with mct i.get zero lump because it spreads out faster..
Once you use mct you will never go back

I used cheap mct from walmart and that shit was SO painful then I went and got the good mct oil and that shit was SMOOOOTH as buttered silk lol, even test-prop turns out absolutely pip free. The quality mct oil is amazing stuff!!!

Also facing the same dillema right now...

Is USP grade worth the extra bucks? Because on iHerb you can get NOW's for like 15$ (32oz - 1L).

Personally, I don't tolerate all MCT oils well. It's kind of trial and error. I brew with GSO for the simple fact that it's so well tolerated by just about everyone. If you can get away with MCT, do it. The fact it takes less time to draw and pin alone is a great plus IMHO

Another point that perhaps more knowledgeable members can add on: MCT isn't a carrier oil used by Pharma. I would assume long term use risk of any of the classic carrier oils is minimal, whereas I have not found anything in regards to MCT use long term.

From what I read from anecdotal evidence it doesn't usually raise systemic inflammation. The only problem is some probability for allergic reaction/intolerance.

That's good to know! I'm very risk adverse so I like to stick with what is tried and true. I stumbled upon a batch of primo that was brewed with MCT and it was absolutely perfect. Smooth and painless.

I did get some test from a different source that was also brewed with MCT and it gave me itchiness, inflammation and a nice lump.

Given these two complete opposite reactions, I am a little hesitant to risk brewing several vials that could have a bad reaction for myself.

A close friend of mine just doesn't tolerate anything besides GSO and Safflower. He ends up with the same reaction

Well, coming from someone who has yet to try anything - waiting on an order, actually MCT oil so I'll see my reaction in a few days - I can still tell you that if the carrier oil was the same in both products but the sources were different, that can be were the issue lies...

Anything from solvents to bad filtration can cause you some PIP I would guess.

I'm also like that so I'm actually inclined to go with USP Castor Oil because it's the only USP grade I can find on iHerb - convinience - and it's also the same that Bayer uses for their Test and Primo.

I used mct by triple b for my trt test c. First two shots left a small knot but next two I felt nothing. I’m waiting for Raws and supplies. I paid 13 bucks for this gmp certified filtered organic mct.

My apologies. I was confusing GMP certified. I’m sure if it’s GMP certified it is also USP. I could be wrong but your gonna filter again through a pvfd micron 22 anyway

Wrong mind set home boy. Nothing is ever good enough. Always search for the best. Now my life coaching is 150 an hr. I take us coinage.

Difficult to get by US coinage as I live in the EU.
But, hey, I'm going for USP castor oil anyways, boi haha

100% I will not use grocery store mct.. I'm site lots of guys and even labs use it and it works.. but I get a lab grade quality.. sterile/filtered.. it's thinner and clearer... after you add bb and a little ba.. she gets really thin..
I know alot of people get reactions from it but I really want to make a small brew with miglyol 840.. it's a tad thinner.. and is supposed to hold hormones really well.. just for a personal experiment.. hard to find in small amounts though and it's not cheap..
