Highland games, height requirements

Im 5`10, 240, bodybuilding for years. Am I too short to get any traction in Highland games competitions? I dont plan on being world champion, just good enough to not humiliate myself in regional competitions and have a good time. My entire family is of this ancestry so that part would be fun too. Are they any famous Highland Games champs below 6 feet to study? I am aware of the few Strongman champs of the same stature.

Height is a determining factor in competition?

I'd be more worried about your weight class. Not sure about HG, but in the world of SM you're in, easily, one of the deepest and most competitive.

Speaking purely from a competitive standpoint. From a practical standpoint, whether you think you're too short or not...compete anyway.

Because why the fuck not?

The caber toss might be a disadvantage event but you're really not short...

Highland events are all about form, you can't muscle your way through very effectively. Practice building momentum in the events and have fun!

Regardless of if you’re an ideal height training for and competing on those events has to be a fucking blast. Go for it bro.

That was my attitude once I saw a few videos and it clicked. Just interested in doing it to have fun, but be decent enough to not make a total ass of myself. Most of the world champs look like Strongmen, and these fucking Icelandics winning a lot of them lol. I will still pursue it.

This is a fun look at CWS doing highland games. Keep in mind, he has a strongman pro card and was a very accomplished shotput athlete.
