Does anyone ever go super strict with diet? I like to go crazy and stick to just steamed tilapia with basmati rice 3x day with 2-3 flavorless iso shakes in water daily and only 1 small cheat meal on Sundays usually slice of pizza or bacon cheeseburger. Anyone else do the same or similar?

How many calories?

Depending on activity level anywhere between 1500-2500. My question wasn't regarding my diet though, was asking if anyone else ever goes super strict too? :p
Its relavant because i am eating 4500 cals
450 protein, 520 carbs, 75 fats.
All i eat is chicken, rice, beans, ground beef, sometimes cheese.

ill have a cheat meal 1-2x a week. Which could be a cupcake. But only if i hit that amount if macros, that is needed.

so when you say strict do you mean, not alot of calories, or just really clean with no sugar or added crap.

All i drink is water. Sometimes a cup of milk.

Edit- so for that many calories a “strict” diet will change compared to a “strict” diet at 2500 cals.

“Strict” for me is hitting my macros. What you eat isn’t really as important as hitting macros and staying under maintenance(if you’re in a deficit, of course). IME, it really hasn’t made a difference if I’ve eaten a bagel and 2 slices of bread or white rice and oats to hit my carb macro.

I was very strict at one point and realized I missed out on a lot in life during that time. I ate the exact same thing every day, no drinks except water and black coffee. 1 cheat meal per week that contained the same macros as my regular meal. I would have my fitness pal opened up anywhere I was eating out while people were enjoying themselves and being free.

For me, food has a lot of opportunity for social benefits and it’s important to find that balance of staying aware while allowing yourself the freedom to enjoy company and the moments y’all share together. I’m not making money for any of this. It’s all selfish. So why should I let it push people out of my life. The only thing I can leave behind when I leave earth is the memories I make with others.

Don’t get me wrong, I still eat on my diet 90% of the time and watch what I eat when I do cheat. And there are times when we have to be super strict, especially those last 4 weeks or so when we’re trying to get shredded. But I don’t let it control me anymore.

When I am cutting, yes. Right now I am currently cutting. I eat beef and rice or potatoes 4x/day and eggs and sweet potatoes 1x/day. black coffee and a few protein shakes. I'll do this 6.5 days per week (I usually allow myself a window of about 4-5 hours to eat whatever I choose, but not in excess, maybe only a little over my cut calorie level).

What's your stats brother? Thanks

2350-2400. I brought it down from about 3100-3200. I'm 6'1" and 247.5 lbs, trying to cut down from 248 to 242 in about 2-3 weeks time. 1 week in I haven't been successful as I thought, but I forgot that my body doesn't like to shed weight for the first week. The scale actually went up to 250.5 on Monday morning, but now I am finally coming down. I should be done cutting by mid April at the latest, but hopefully by the end of the first week of April.

Why only 6lbs?

Why only 6lbs?
I compete in strongman under 231.5 and I don't want to water cut from almost 250, 242 is a much more manageable place to start. I don't care about being super lean (don't get me wrong, I care about how I look, it is just not my top priority), although getting down to 242 will certainly have me with a decent set of visible abs. Last year around this same time, I cut 24 lbs in 14 weeks (265-241), because I was fucking fat and wanted to compete under 231.5. I'm a highly competitive middle weight amateur strongman, but I am not strong enough to be competitive with the heavy weights (over 231.5) at any of the bigger competitions.

Something is wrong if you are healthy male and you need to cut calories to 1500 to see progress happen in your diet. (competition diets and dropping to super body fat levels may need that in the END of the diet)

I disagree. If muscle loss isn't a big concern lowering cals to 1500-2000 ain't that big a deal is not done for too long. Just my opinion is all.
