Hi Team,

Longtime lurker, first time poster.

I'm 28 years old and have been a lifelong athlete. Always was on the fatter side due to genetics and the food habits of my parents, but got to a pretty good place at the end of high school and through college. Put on a ton of weight over covid through a combination of constantly smoking weed, partying, and eating like shit. Recently got my BMI back into a healthy range (5'8" 175lbs) and have developed an active lifestyle (lifting, cross training, tennis, soccer, hiking) and got my eating/nutrition in a good place.

Goal: developing an "ideal" physique. Nothing crazy, but would like to get my BF % to 10% - 15% and modestly bulk up all around. Can't remember the quote, but it's like "every man should feel what their strongest body is at least once in their lives," or something close to that. Might be from the Greeks? Either way, I want to look in the mirror and love what I see, rather than think "yeah, that's fine."

Interested in doing either my first cycle of Test or rHGH to burn visceral fat and put on muscle. Still doing research to figure out what would be best for me and am here to listen and learn. Would like to get it started by late January or early February to get a good recomp done by mid spring, and focus on a mean cut until summer.

My test levels are fine (469 TT / 9.9 FT), but could def benefit from Test. From what I understand however, rHGH seems to be slightly less hard on the body. Either way, I'm still doing my research and would love input from those wiser than me.

Thanks!

Although they have some overlapping effects, GH and testosterone aren’t really comparable.

You should get an igf-1 test before starting GH. If you plan on doing like 2iu a day you may end up with lower igf-1 levels than your natural production levels. Good thing about this is your natural production will come back after just a couple days of stopping injections.

Honestly, most people would get “more” out of even a lower dose TRT like 125mg a week. If you want to keep fertility up run HCG as well.

If you can do both obviously that’s ideal

I would recommend a GLP like tirzepatide or retatrutide before GH for health benefits. Of course you could do both, and they're both low risk. GH can increase your BP from the water retention, so keep an eye on that if you choose to run it. Before starting GH or test, make sure to get a full baseline panel done first, check your estrogen at ~8 weeks, and then another full panel at 12-16 weeks. The dose is less relevant than being consistent with it so you can monitor your response.
