Funny Things You see at the Gym

Joined a new gym today. I only like privately owned gyms and the one I have been going to for 3 years now was great, till about 3 months ago. Broccoli heads have taken over and the owner is just taking their money and looking the other way. I have been unhappy their for a bit now but today was the final straw. 3 different groups of them, shirts off, 140 pounds and posing in the mirror, while filming themselves “ with tripods set up” benching and deadlifting 225 like people actually should be showing respect, lmfao. I know im old and all that but i don’t see signs of this getting better so off I go. New gym is private, key fob to open the doors, 24 hour access and plenty of good equipment, more so than my old gym , and for only 10$ more a month then what I was paying. My progress was stalled their anyway, I don’t like change much but I should have done this months ago. Sorry, I just had to share my experience. My lesson: if you are stalling and not progressing maby a change is in order, even if it’s difficult.

Everyone wants to be the new influencer...shoot, I damn near wear a moomoo at the gym and never look in the mirror. Nothing impressive enough to look at.
Honestly I m a little worried for the gen Z and Gen alpha men. All the bodybuilding reels seem to be doing to them what Hollywood has always been doing to women and girls.

For me; the mirror is just to help keep an eye on form. I know what my old bald hairy fat ass looks like. Some dudes not only pose in the mirrors but they watch themselves doing things, like picking up a plate, or what they look like putting dumbbells back on the rack. Even when I was younger I didn’t have those insecurities about myself, but I was trying to compare myself to the pros in the magazines back then, not the latest jerkoff on insta. Look how many dudes are just influencers, not actual pro’s winning contests, or actual power lifters and strongman.

Broccoli heads are taking over mine too. It's been a pretty solid gym but lately there's 10 or so of them that are there if I'm running late. I no shit watched one making faces in the mirror doing cable rows. Then got up and stood by his friends, dropped his shorts and started flexing his twiggy quads in the mirror while the others were flexing biceps. I make a point to stand between them and the mirror every chance I get.

dude i got on tik tok for the first time in my life.

i found out where all these looksmaxxing idiots are coming from
its all dudes with edited photos claiming that HGH made them look like a celebrity and that GHKCU builds muscle and shit.

i spent like 5 minutes clicking through and it really scrambled my brain no joke.

This always made me happy

The unfortunate thing is that bro will get called out and it will be labelled as roid rage. Will also be kicked out of the gym and may end up in small claims court (for damages)
Change is inevitable :D :D . There's a whole new culture around Gym-fluencers, and the owners what their gyms out there.
Glps being easily affordable is only going to compound this issue, pun intended.
Already made my peace with it
