i'm in college and get kind of having bread and a protein shake everyday, so i need ideas of food to throw in a blender to eat once and a while that's not going to taste like absolute shit. i live in dorms and eat that food sometimes considering we can get subway and whatever the hell we have for dinner. so what should i throw in there?

Do you have access to a microwave? If so check out Lean Ultras. Like a Hot Pocket but with a lot less fat and carbs. It also has 24 grams of protein per serving with 7 grams of fiber. They cost like $1.25 per serving. Oh and they taste good too.
Hormel's Turkey Chili is pretty good too.

I love making smoothies for breakfast, just toss everything in the blender and voila-

my usual- this is a pretty big shake

(all measurements are approximate)

1 cup of 1% milk
1/2-1 cup of frozen unsweetened berries (blueberries, raspberries, etc.)
1 cup plain yogurt
1 T ground flax
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/2 cup instant oatmeal

just blend all that together and it tastes great and is very quick and easy

sometimes I make it too thick, so then I just add some more milk while it is blending

and those lean pocket ultras are pretty good too, but I need to eat two of them to count as a meal

wholemeal pasta, tomato soup (low sodium) and tuna. tastes great! Sub brown rice for pasta if you like and of course add water until its a thick soup consistency.

1 1/2 cup skim milk
1 cup oats
1 bannana
1 heaping table spoon natty PB
1 1/2 scoops chocolate protein

This shit rocks! I have it almost every morning for breakfast and sometimes at night. It's like 770 cal and 65 grams protein.

yeah, I make that smoothie sometimes too, have you ever tried peeling the banana and freezing it in advance? makes the shake better

Hahaha, I hate it when it comes out like sludge. Happens to me all the time also bro.

I like mixing about 80grams of oatmeal / 600mls skim milk / 3 eggwhites / scoop of ice cream / 200g tub of yoghurt.

I used to do this religiously everyday. As of late, I just can't be fucked and end up eating toast with a protein shake.

Raw egg whites is a gamble. Salmonella is nothing to be toyed with. I know a man who went to the hospital for 4 days. Even in a mild case theres fever, diarhea, cramps, and muscle aches. Its a place I don't care to visit again.

I can't wait to try the frozen bananna. I always wish the smoothie was colder. I used to do the raw egg thing..until I heard the same thing about salmonilla (sp). Now if i want to add raw eggs I nuke em for 10 secs or so.......supposedly that will kill the bacteria

thanks for the ideas guys. i guess i can get eggs and cook them in the microwave, not the greatest tasting thing, but that's okay. what is wholemeal pasta?

peel 2-3 of them and put them on a plate and freeze them overnight... then after they are frozen you can put them in a ziplock bag, if you put them in the bag and then freeze them, they stick together.

oh, okay about the whole grains. how do you make a tuna shake? just like ronin said or are there other ways?
