who has tried it and what were your results??..
i tried it once and to me it was just a hassle to be adding things up on MFP and seeing what macros are free.

Been using it for years. Love being able to eat what I want. I've gotten to the point where i know how much I have to eat to get my desired results.

what percentage of your calories are your free calories? 15-20%

I don't do free calories although you could if you wanted to. I literally eat whatever I want. That's not to say it's all ice cream and Brownies but I don't limit myself.

Tomorrow for example will be:
6egss, home fries, bacon, and cereal
Greek yogurt with granola, raspberries, strawberries, banana, and blackberries
A 5 guys burger with fries before the gym (not sure if I want the double or triple lol)
Poptarts during the gym
A shake after the gym with whey, whole milk, PB, oats, banana, apple, and ice cream
The girl and I will probably cook some pepper steak with onions, peppers and rice and tabouleh on the side
Another shake with whole milk and whey and bananas
Maybe some Greek yogurt and PBnJ before bed

I also usually have 2-3 salads a day

for example your meal plan for tomorrow, do you log it all in like on MFP?
making sure you meet your calories and macros for the day?

Not sure what you mean by free calories. I hit my protein requirement and eat whatever the fuck I want for fat and carbs. Usually low fat and very high carb for me. I don't limit my self to numbers. If I'm hungry I eat, if im not hungry I make sure to hit my protein req and try to eat some carbs.

I used to use MFP to learn the macros of the foods I eat frequently but I've gotten to the point where I just know how much I have to eat to hit my minimum protein needs and the amount of calories I need to cut, maintain, or bulk. With time you'll need MFP less and less.

In DCA/IIFYM it's free calories are basically the calories from "dirty" foods. You're told to get most of your macros from whole and minimally processed foods aka "clean" foods and a small percent, usually 10-20%, of your daily calories can come from "dirty" foods. These dirty foods are free calories.

that sounds great, hope i get good at it too so i can just know how much i need like you do, i just noticed that MFP doesnt add up calories correctly idk why, im doing a cut and i had over protein but the calories totals were not even correct they were off by like 100 calories weird.

Be careful as the macros are added by users many times and they can be off. Also I don't know if they count fiber calories or not. Never cared enough to check.

i double check the entries to make sure they match the label of what im eating, ill scan my food if i can, but the macros dont add up is what i noticed, even when it says i need more of something its wrong

well i read a couple of posts on their forum and it seems MFP rounds up there calories so its always better to just count your macros once there added to make sure the calories are close to your goal calories for the day.

I remember you weigh like 155lbs or something, right? Your dieting should be ULTRA flexible, meaning eat everything you can until you're about to puke, and do it again, and again until you're much bigger.

No offense, but you seem to always want to take the laziest approach available with stuff.

That's not unreasonable or really too complicated. I would carb cycle if I were you.

i was reading up on that and found one thats 4 weeks 500 calories above maintenance and the 1 week at 500 calories under maintenance.

Hmm, I don't really count my calories too much. I see them as a side effect of what I eat. I care more about protein, carbs and fats. I always seem to get enough calories if I eat the proper amounts of those.
