anyone know what the nutrition for just egg whites is?? I love eggs and im thinking that since i heard most of the protein is in the white i might eat a boatload of them. (plus they're super cheap and being in college kills the wallet!!!)

Most of the protein is certainly NOT in the whites. It's roughly 3 grams, which is approximately half or a little less.

You can always eat a couple whole and a bunch of whites. You really don't want to eat whites only, though. It's fucking gross!

When I was in college, I used to drink 10 whites at a time. 50+ eggs a day. My thinking was this. I want the fat-free protein from the egg whites, thus I must consume them. Eating 10 egg whites takes ten minutes of horrendous taste. Drinking ten egg whites takes 3 seconds. Obviously, the latter is the better choice. ;)

Grizz, how did you drink 10 egg whites? Raw, or did you cook then chop up in blender. B/c I thought eggs have to be cooked in order for our stomachs to be able to digest the protein in them?

I've heard the thing about cooking them, too, but I don't know that I buy it. You're the Dr., you tell me. ;) And, yes, I drank them raw. After fifty thousaund(literally) eggs consumed raw, I have come to the conclusion that samonella doesn't really exist.

Personally i don't mind the whites alone as long as theres some salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Hot sauce can make just about anything great! thank god for chili peppers!

AMEN! :D And bump for Frank's Red Hot sauce... anybody else had that stuff?

Check this out. Cook up some chicken breasts so that they are cooked through but just barely. Slice them into chunks a little bigger than your thumb. Slice up some jalapeno or serrano peppers (depending on your tolerance). Put a pepper slice with a chicken piece and wrap with a slice of bacon. Coat with Frank's and put on the grill. Cook em til their a little crispy. Serve with ranch dressing.

Make a lot of them... You'll thank me for it.

yeah most protein is in the white but the vitamins are in the yolk. Why not eat the yolk?

I know what you mean. That's why when I use that stuff it's in large quantity. It's hard to coat a chicken wing with tobasco.

well about 1 in 20,000 regular eggs have samonella and 1 in 50,000 with organic. i love raw eggs because they are a quick protein source for those lazy mornings

i had this stuff called .. i think PURECAP and 1 drop in a whole box of linguini and 2 cans of clam sauce was enough to taste .. the heat. It came in a bottle with a dropper and it was something you wouldn't want to joke with like putting in your friends food just for fun. the habanero pepper is supposed to be the hottest natural and it measures 2,000 heat units .. this stuff measured 500,000 heat units. My wife just saw some stuff at the meadowlands that measured 600,000 heat units. that's friggin insane

That all depends on the upcoming MCAT in August. If I do well (27+) I think I can get in; otherwise, I"ll have to wait till next summer to take it again, and that will set me back another year :( Some people take up to 6 months to prepare; I started studying 5 weeks ago and have about 5 weeks left. I've covered about half the material so far. I better do well, it cost me $200 just to register for this test!

Goddamnit, no most of the protein is NOT in the goddamned white!
4g in the white and 2 in the yolk is what i always thought for regular eggs. .. when i buy organic it's 10 grams per egg but not sure where the protein is the most

For a large egg, there is 6-7g protein/egg, depending on which label you read. Any data on egg whites I've seen says 3-3.5g/white. It's half to slightly less.

Eat the whole egg raw and yes hot sauce is a must. Personally can't eat the haberno sauce picked up a couple bottles when I was in mex (one green and one red) - that stuuf is too damn hot. I can eat a drop or 2 but my asshole will be burning after my morning shit. Same with the 911 sauce at hooters gotta stick with the TMI. Stick with franks.

I am now hardboiling most of my eggs. It's so easy to pop one out and eat it for protein. .. There are alot of people that say cooking is better for protein absorption and cooked tastes better and are easier to have at work. Also,if you eat raw i'm pretty sure you should eat the whole egg and not just the white ... i will look on Mercola's site if you don't feel like and post why
