I'm happy he won... I think he would have died trying.

I wondered if he'd stick to his plan, good on him:
Eddie Hall retires from World's Strongest Man competition
This will be the start of the controversy that follows:
The mountain will be next to win, IMO. He may have been the real winner this time....
I had read the mountain was in the best shape of his life for this one. Questionable for sure. But good on Eddie. Seems like a genuinely good dude.
Remember Kevin Nee?
He was the youngest WSM competitor ever at 19. Then he disappearred. Where did he go? The guy had unbelievable potential.
A bicep tear. I think a knee injury. But all in all prolly no different than any other competitor? I may be wrong...The shit takes a toll... I think he had a pretty bad injury? I read something about him not too long ago... Same question was posed in the article, "where'd he go?"

But he competed in WSM at 19 and the youngest competitor ever. Reached the WSM finals at 21. Another first.
I think he elluded to wanting to grow slower and more naturally.
The kid must of been a wonderful responder to juice to do all that at a young age
I was checking out his recent record(Nee) and he has qualified several times since for WSM and some other strongman comp im unfamiliar with. But i also noticed he has a big fancy degree from the University of ArizonaSome guys just can't come back after those injuries... Or don't want to. Maybe he didn't qualify once his injuries had healed? Time is as much of an enemy as those injuries... It's a shame too because he had a lot of time in his side.
I remember seeing Kevin in an mtv doc series when I was younger, really got me into strength sports at the time...
Bicep tear is what finished Poundstone if I'm not mistaken, ever see that thing? Gnarly.
Shaw tore his hamstring at wsm this year, still finished the competition like a badass.
