Cleaning Wraps & Sleeves

I wear wrist wraps on the regular... Knee sleeves as well.

I have not yet found a good way to clean them... I've done a few things but they never seem to really get clean. I can't put them in the washer due to the materials they're made of.

The sleeves in particular are getting pretty rough... I slid them off yesterday and hoped no one would walk by before I got them in my gym bag.

Curious how some of you guys clean these items up?

I soak mine in hot water and detergent, rinse, and microwave briefly

I tried that but didn't seem to do a lot... Seemed like it really needed that movement in the washer to work the soap through the material.

I really think the test base I've used in the past has made the wraps and sleeves particularly pungent... It feels like you just sweat out that shit after pinning it and it soaks into the wraps.

Cold or low warm temp washer load does the trick here - they'll eventually lose the stretch, that's inevitable and more tied to exposure to sun, oxygen and heat than some sudsy water. I let them airdry.

They'll never be the same after machine washing and hand washing won't really do the trick either. Best way to work around this I've found is to put the gear in a ziplock bag and store in the freezer when not in use.

Motorcycle helmet padding cleaner. Many choices and not hard to find online or at most bike shops. Just an idea

I soak mine with deer hunting scent a way and shove em in zip lock bags when they get smelly. Seems to help if you don't mind them smelling like fresh earth and pine needles.

That's clever... Might be more feasible, not opposed to rocking the pine fresh scent.

It works ok. I think I might give the motorcycle helmet spray a shot curious as to how well it works.

Also realized this is about the most sane new thread I've seen on meso lately:oops:

if you’re training like an animal and your sleeves stink like an animal use some animal cleaner. this stuff gets the stink out of anything

Eman just soak em in hot water with conditioner. I always do that with my wetsuits when they start to smell like milk dew and works every time. Soak for a couple hours

They’ll be slickish next time you put them on, the neoprene sleeves. I’m sure it would be fine with the wrist wraps too. My knee sleeves are getting funky too right now
