Can't pot just be legalized in all states already?

War on drugs is big business, too many people depend on endless people being shuffled through the court system. Arrest rates could drop by as much as 50% if you legalized weed, that would really fuck up the system, people would be laid off, low or no skill workers would have to find another line of work other than sitting around all day watching humans rot in cages.

I can tell you this. You will never get the Feds to legalize unless you start looking at who you put in office. We've got a bunch of young politicians that want to legalize all drugs, they're tired of watching the carnage. However if you keep voting these crusty old fuck Social Conservatives, you got no chance at this ever being legal. So pick your poison, either find Libertarian candidates or you're stuck with progressives that want some crazy stuff, but at least they'll end this drug war and cut off a big chunk of the police state. I'd just as well get rid of the cops and carry a gun with me all the time anyway.

There's really only one party that is absolute when it comes to shutting down the war on drugs and that's libertarians. They scare the shit out of people and it makes them nervous having so much freedom, but you just gotta go for it, take the risk and see what happens.

Until American's get rid of their fear of not having big government around to solve all problems, we will continue to have those that think they know best writing endless legislation to cage us in nice and tight.

It's a jerk knee impulse anytime a tragedy happens to immediately draw up draconian legislation to keep the herd safe. It takes wisdom and courage to resist this urge, to step back, recollect, take a long thoughtful pause and accept the occasional tragedy, realizing freedom is more important than little billy that ended up dead from misadventure.

Hell yes I am going to vote Libertarian candidate Jo Jorgensen. She wants to basically end the war on drugs, war in Middle East, war poverty, war on guns, basically all the BS wastes of taxpayer dollars and give people their freedom back.

That's who I'm voting for as well, her VP Jeremy "Spike" Cohen is free market anarchist. I wish they had a real chance, but we might as well show the world that someone cares about freedom.

The house is voting to remove it from the federal list of controlled substances. The more act. I doubt it makes it but it's a little forward progress.

I'm not asking for much here, nor am I asking to be a stoner. But for God sakes it would be awfully nice to just hit a cpl times in the evening to take the edge off and get some god damn sleep!!! Fuck benzos!
Funny you mention benzos. So I went through a period when my ortho told me to stop lifting or I was going to tear my tendon in my shoulder (yes, I did eventually tear it). The wife and I used this time to start a family.

With no gym I needed something to do so I started growing weed. Grew for about 3 years, and smoked everything I grew. Kid gets older and curious so I decide it’s time to stop growing. After smoking the last of what I had grown I started having really bad sleep problems. I was getting 3-4 hours a night, and this continued for about 2 years. I finally gave in and went to the doctor and found a combo of a benzo and an antidepressant that helped me sleep better. I tried getting off the benzo after a year and a half, and on day 5 I was hit with withdrawals. Thought I was going to die. Got back on the benzo and went back to normal. Now, I occasionally get weed, and I swear it’s like “normal” sleeping all over again until I run out.

I would love weed to be decriminalized nation wide. I could probably get off these damn scripts which I’m completely dependent on right now. I’m sure I’m not the only one in this boat too. Pharma is a blessing and a curse, but sometimes nature does it perfectly and that’s all we need.

Pharma isn't a blessing when they force you to go through them, when they write legislation that you must go through them or you have broken the law.

It's fine if you want to develop a drug on your own and sell it. If I want to come along and make that same drug and sell it to everyone for 10% of what you charge I should be able to do that. That's called true free market capitalism, no patents no bullshit. Dog eat dog, no armies of lawyers to protect your own interests.

That's the reality on the street about regulating weed or anything for that matter. The minute you regulate, you tax and you drive up the cost, so people say "fuck that" and do it on their own.

We really shouldn't have regulated drugs, the government screws everything, they bog us down as they try to muscle in on the action.

Your still on them?
So admittedly I haven't renewed my script in like a year, I had a little left and I been taking about 1mg in the evenings. I haven't been doing this very long and I'm not renewing the script. So my plan is to taper off again. Plus side is my sleep has been excellent and I feel whole again, but the downside is always when you don't have them and realize how dependant you get on the fucking things!! I'm gonna go down to half a tab and take earlier in evening to allow me to try to fall asleep at a decent hour and then after a week of the taper be done. Cold turkey on these things feels like death, I'm gonna taper down again and this shit ain't getting refilled. Fuck benzos

Getting rid of intellectual patents is absolutely ridiculous.

I can agree with all other things you said.

Weed shops “essential business” in Oregon for sure, and pretty sure same in California too.
