I hate getting into debates over presidents, so i'll just make a statement. I'm 22, and GW Bush's policies are not going to make my life any better, actually they are going to make it far worse. Only the rich benefit from trickle down economics. Guess what, only 1% of this country is rich, 24% of this country THINK they're rich, and 30% of the country thinks they WILL be rich by age 40, that's the main reason people love republican views. To think Bush is actually a good president is a horrible horrible thing. The man is looking to do away with certain tax exemptions that would make ANY homeowner bankrupt. He does not support stem cell research, therefore anyone who is or knows, diabetics, cancer/aids patients, and other severely ill individuals, their chance for survival is dramatically lowered. He takes the money from the research, and uses it to fund a war that in the eyes of many is not necessary. He has destroyed our ties with MANY countries, and has made us an unwanted part of the UN. Now while I have highlighted has bad points, I will elaborate on his good points. He has made this country feel more secure. With his war, he has raised US morale to new heights. People believe more in our country now than they ever did. Do you believe it was worth it though? He has succeeded in making the property market rates better than normal, which for me is a huge asset.
Even though I am a democrat, I do not back Kerry, I honestly think that both candidates are terrible, and either way we're not going to win. The question is, do you believe the war should go on, and that our economy should suffer under Bush, or instead of pushing through the Middle East, we set up sites that we already have secure, and keep some troops there stationed to keep the enemy at bay... and let our economy take a rest?
Bush did his time in office, and suceeded in taking care of the issues in the Middle East. Did he go to far? Yes, but he still made us sleep better at night. Putting him in office another 4 years gives him the opportunity to essentially do whatever he pleases. If you've actually read some of the policies he has proposed, you would laugh... he is only out to benefit the rich, but then again if you pay close attention to politics you know this anyway.
