I really do hope that Dean gets the Dems nomination. If that happens, there is absolutely no way in hell that he could ever beat bush head-to-head. He's an assclown of the highest order.
One loser already dropped out yesterday, and I anticipate that a few more will be done next Tuesday once Iowa shows who's really in the running. Sharpton will be gone, Leiberman will probably drop out soon after, Kucinich will be out, and Clark wont last much longer. Id love to see Dean get stomped in Iowa. I wouldnt vote for any of the candidates (Im an R), but at least I could stand to see someone like Gephardt in office. For a Dem, at least he seems to be a little more moderate than most of the rest of them.
IMO, thats the biggest problem with the Dems. Theyve gotten their butts kicked in the last two elections and now they think in order to win back seats (and the Presidency) that they have to move even further left of where they were before. It wont work. It will only attract the hardcore liberal voters, while in the meantime alienating the more moderate Dems. Until they realize that going more socialist will only serve to continue their loss of political power and seats in govt, they dont stand a chance against the Republicans. Particularly when the economy is rebounding (the idea that jobs arent coming back is a load of crap. Jobs have never lead any economic recovery.), we are making great strides in Iraq (caught one more of the top 55 guys the other day), and the Dow increased about 30% in 2003, while the NASDAQ was up about 50%.
Dont get me wrong, I dont agree with everything the Bush administration has done, but they do have my support and respect. IMO, they have one of the best cabinets ever with the likes of Colin Powell and Condi Rice. I can only imagine how screwed up things would be if Gore actually won in 2000.
