So I think I'm about to switch gears here and start doing this "convict conditioning" its all bodyweight exercises geared towards using your own bodyweight as resistance and building maximum strength without an external load. Says its supposed to be good for building "bulletproof joints and tendons" and getting very lean. So I figured WTF, I'm always looking for new things. I'm 225 lbs fairly lean already, maybe this would make me a sick looking 205? The only modification I'm going to make with the training is throwing in 1 day of some power moves every 7-10 days to keep the size and keep the muscles recognizing the workloads outside of Calisthenics. Anyone ever read this book or try this? I think its a solid approach to training as I get older, thoughts?

its a similar concept to planche training and what gymnasts do. If u watch the olympics those guys look like they lift weight when in actuality most if not all their workouts consist of lifting their weight which is easier said than done.

manwhore?

What? O yea...

OK, you want some advice from a
real convict?
When I did a stretch upstate for... it's not
important why I was there, and yes 19th Dec
to 15th Jan is considered a stretch in some
states.. countries... somewhere .. google it

It all comes down to Sarcoplasmic Hypertrophy
and Ramen Noodles... That's it.. Seriously, that's
all it is with this convicts..

and rest.. alot of rest all
the fuckin time... too much fuckin rest, if you ask me.
and they really need to do something about the
shit they call beef stew.. It sucks

Convict Conditioning is more focused on progessions to advanced exercises like arm chin ups and pushups than on designing metabolic and strength workouts. Good material, though, if building up to those movements is important to you. Otherwise, check out some of Ross Enamint (spelling) books.

i am (un)fortunately experienced with CC as well- years ago. Its what manwhore said 'time, excercise, ramen and too much rest'. i was a beast when i was invited to leave. we worked out at least two times a day for well over an hour each time. Lots of cardio, bags of water, jumping, burpees, w2hatever we could come up with. there wasnt a cop in the country that could have out ran me, and i have short legs! I wasnt really ripped, but i was big at 211lbs at 5'9 1/2", the biggest i've ever been. Never felt healthier either, lol.

@manwhore: im checking in here just to see your new hourly avatar!

upstate for less than a month. idk. some states dont have county jail. like delaware ive heard. its all state prison. county jail sucks. i never want to see ramen noodles again. or pay for anything with them again. or hear them thrown against the floor over and over. county food is gross.

not only is it gross, its all starch and no protein. hope you have friends in the kitchen, or can buy them. commissary is worthless and overpriced.

i see some guys doing this at the minute, depends what you wanna do i suppose, personally i just dont see the point in hanging around like a gibbon, when you can use traditional methods that are alot easier to execute:confused::confused:

i mean whats easier, upside down hand press against a wall or a tricep extension pulley???? to me, the former is just plain stupid.............

maybe just to take boredom away from doing the norm?

have seen a youtube vid of a guy doing all these crazy moves, i dont give a crap, he's juiced and did not get that physic from that alone, and some of his moves are just plain dangerous and will screw his connective tissues and joints eventually.......
