Aussie female BB dead, death blamed on protein supplements

Her parents are pushing the anti-protein agenda as well. I understand that after a loss of someone close to you there can be an overwhelming need and desire to blame someone for the loss. But to ignore the fact that your loved one had an extremely rare illness, and call for bans and more government oversite on something that is not only healthy but is also taken safely by millions of people annually is not the answer.

Considering there are 7.5 billion people in the world, 1 in 8000 doesn't sound very rare.

Citrulline Malate has been shown, in humans, to reduce ammonia levels in the body. This is an amino acid most people on high protein diets should be consuming anyways, plus it's awesome pre workout for vascularity. There are also a few studies showing it increases the amount of carnosine in your cells, allowing for more oxygen and better waste removal.

It's damn near impossible to pin it solely on a protein shake.
It's more so like the straw that broke the camels back. She was probably on her way to kicking the can through her normal diet, as it stated her diet consisted of "lean meats and egg whites", but the protein shakes acted as a catalyst and got her there faster.

Shame. She didn't look that much better than the average woman for dying as a result of her diet.

They threw in the middle of the article "supplements tell you to consult a doctor before taking, but how many really do?"
Are you fucking kidding me? This is the first time I have ever heard of someone dying as a result of too much protein.
How many fuckin times has an underage kid died of alcohol poisoning? Where's the outrage on alcohol? Pulled from the CDC website - in the US ALONE 6 people die A DAY from alcohol poisoning.

Stupid. If anyone in this situation should be blamed, it should be here preparation coach. Did she have one? Where did she get her diet from? I talked with a lady here who's coach has her taking 20mg of nolvadex a day, 5mg of winny every 12 hours, and 1mg of adex EOD for a BIKINI COMPETITION. Wtf!?

And really, you can't blame the coaches. Who is stupid enough to blindly take foods, and drugs, just because some "coach" tells them to!? Just goes to show how lazy this world has become. No one is willing to research on their own.

Rant over :(

EDIT: when I say here, I don't mean here on meso. I mean I talked to a lady here in my place of residence.

It does sound kind of silly to cast blame onto protein as a cause of death, especially with the kind of shit some of us put into our bodies.

With that said, I hope that it raises awareness that these kinds of diseases exist. I think it's important to be getting checked out by doctors to know what kind of limitations you have.

Ha! If the protein supplement did get banned.... you know damn good and well the pharmaceutical company would do their tests, get it approved by FDA and make that into a $1,000 dollar prescription.

But don't worry, you would be safe because you would have your prescription and the FDA says it's safe........

Yes, you'd think, of all people, that a BB would listen more to the body than the average Joe, or Joan in this case. That she'd feel like shit when she loads up on crazy macro ratios. That she would have read up somewhat on how nutrition and the body works. Most of all, listen to how her body responds to certain foods.
