androgel versus cypionate

reading swale's recipe for trt he recommends starting trt with either 5mg of androgel daily or a weekly injection of 100mg of test cypionate.with the ester carrying 70mg of actual test per 100mg cyp injection I ASSUME with either method the daily dosage will be 5mg.
with the half life of cyp being i researched it to be 12 days when swales recipe for trt states cyp's pharmacodynamics half life to be 5-8 days.
could someone explain how a weekly injection equivalent to 70 mg of test be the same as a daily application of 5mg of androgel if either is followed for several months as swale states follow up blood tests with cyp injections take place after the 5th week when testosterone levels are stable?

The dose delievered to the bloodstream is not the same.

However, the increased DHT formation from the Androgel more than compensates for the decreased T delivery in many men.

The half-life of the cypionate ester IS 5-8 days, depending upon the patient's metabolism, activity level and overall health. I have observed this to be true from clinical experience with hundreds of patients (they FEEL it).

Follow-up labwork may be obtained 2 weeks post initiation of Androgel therapy.
