Hello everyone. I want to start this post off by saying I am in no way a big guys or aesthetically pleasing yet. I'm currently natural but I respect everyone in the body building/powerlifting community and I realize even with anabolics you have to put in the work. My goal for this post is to talk about genetics. Let me start off with some backstory.
By the age of 18 I joined the marine corps, discharged at 20 around 170 pounds pretty lean with no lifting experience. I joined a fire department where I ate McDonald's and ran calls all day to about 189 pounds. Following a recent divorce I fasted/intermittent fasted for 30 days and dropped to 165/170 15% BF. I understood the risks as a paramedic myself and I did the research. The fat loss seemed at a normal rate for how high of a caloric deficit I was in.
Here's where the story gets interesting. I decided I was going to bulk on a 200 calorie surplus. I hit the gym 7 days a week, 3 hours a day, working every muscle group in my body multiple times within two days. By the seventh day I had to eat and I kid you not I ate EVERYTHING. McDonald's and cookies and chips. I was eating 6 times a day over 3k calories.
I continued this process for 3 months. Weighing and body fat percentages once a month. I was getting a lot bigger muscle wise. Here were my stats.
Month 1 start: 165, 15% body fat
Month 1 end: 173, 15% body fat
Month 2 end: 180, 15% body fat
Month 3 end: 187, 16% body fat
I have don't a lot of research and everything I read suggests gains like this happen only on steroids or if you are some kind of genetic marvel. My workout partner started the same as me and ran test p and tren a which I've done my research on. I gained FASTER than him. Not only did I gain muscle I was losing fat!
I took a week break from the gym after month three and have done one and a half weeksof intermittent fasting at a 400 calorie deficit. 1.5 miles a day in under 10 mins (I thank the marine corps for my ability to run), my normal workout, and 10 miniuts of high intensity interval training. In these 10 days I've cut 10 pounds and am now at 13% body fat. 3% in 10 days! I'm starting to see my Definition for the first time in my life. Yet once again everything I read said the loss of that much weight that quickly without kissing muscle is near impossible not on anibolics.
I understand this sounds far fetched but I have no reason to lie and I'm looking for advice. Is this normal? Or do I have crazy genetics?
This drastic change has made me really look into natural ifbb. If I do this in three months who knows what I can accomplish.
I have thought a lot and done a lot of research about running a cycle during my cut but have not 100% made up my mind I've looked at different ugl and I'm emailing a few back and forth. I'm very curious how big I can get naturally at the same time though. Due to this drastic change with no pro hormones or anabolics.
First two pictures in black shirts are end of month 3. Picture in white shirt was end of month 1.
Thank you for all your input in advance!
