Hi everyone,
Thank you for all the information that has been contributed here. I have learned a lot reading through posts across the past few days.
I'm turning 48 in a few months, and I'm planning a project to achieve the physique goals I've always wanted.
I have weight trained through my entire life, even owned a gym at one point. I love it. I'm passionate about it.
I also train and perform aerial straps (easier to youtube search it than to describe it)
I have a gymnasts build- primarily from my aerial straps training priorities. Good shoulders.... small legs.
I want some crazy quads.
I want to become a quad savant
I want to build the legs I've always wished I built
My legs have never been more than 25"
When I turned 45 I started loosing quad mass, now I'm down to about 22.5"
I want 27" quads. .... fuck, I want 30" quads Thats totally going to mess up my balance for straps, but legs are my priority now. Its what I want.
My quads and hamstrings aren't recovering like they used to, and I'm not progressing in my attempts to grow them.
I can tell my back and lats are also getting a little slower to recover when I train straps multiple times a week
My smaller muscle groups still seem to perform great.
So my goals with pharmacology are:
Grow my fucking legs like an obsessed beast that doesn't stop
Improve recovery in my lats for straps
Try to continue keeping speed with the 20 year olds I train with
Any other gains would be great, but those 3 things are the focus.
I'm 5'10 and 178 pounds
At 178 I have a full 8 pack, striations in my shoulders, and moderate vascularity. Shoulder veins visible, but no abdominal or chest veins.
I started a deficit to cut down to 170 before beginning pharmacology to give myself a long runway for a cycle surplus.
Hopefully by the end of this cut in about 5 weeks, I will have decided on what I'm going to run, sourced it, and be ready to go.
I have a full physical and bloodwork scheduled with my dr next week. I will try and nudge him for a test script... but probably won't be successful. But who knows.
I'm excited for my project, and again, I appreciate all of the time everyone has taken to contribute helpful information to this forum.
