That's just whatever they fed us in school back in the 90's. I don't recall the class. It may have been some basic IT class where they let us run a copy of some sick ass software called "Ifs".. So it was basically a bunch of extrapolation on data like that. That software platform probably grew into one of the AI root functions.. Shit I don't even think the TERM "Extrapolate" existed before Star Trek Next Gen in the 90's.. LOLWhere are you getting your information on Earth's population?
Is the world pop not currently 7-7.5 Billion?? Am I off target... I just firmly recall 7+ Billion was the number they were pumping into our heads way back when... Never know though could have been a crazy professor. You know how egotistical and omniscient they tend to be in the wonderful world of academia...
On the forecasting. Population growth just doubles every 5 years like Utilities stocks. Just the way it is historically speaking... Hence WHY utilities stocks double every 5 years.. And maybe that's RATE of growth, or does not count the number of folks that die.. Not sure but yes I see the erroring in the actual results of this forecast model... I was never all that "Studious"...
Its a good question you pose because NOTHING is doing as it is supposed to any more. Its almost like historical trend is out the window. But the one thing you can count on is numbers in that the TREND will remain, even though it may skew for a bit. BANK ON IT...
