Glucose in Your Workout Drink?

I use honey in my drink due to high glucose levels. Honey also has fructose

I was wondering about using a pure glucose powder or syrup Faster availability than other sugars

anyone have a thought on pure glucose in a drink?

Thanks. Fructose is not of interest. It just happens to be in the honey. I love the honey for the glucose

So you’d suggest a combo of glucose and dextrose. Is that from a powdered product?

a tablespoon of honey is about 7.5g glucose and 8.6g fructose (Honey Nutrition Facts & Calories )

There is some merit in having some fructose with glucose, it seems to enhance glucose uptake, but maybe something like 10-15% fructose and rest glucose could be beneficial. But i keep it simple and just use dextrose or maltodextrin.

Highly branched cyclic dextrin from truenutrition. I got I think a 10 lb bag. That and eaa’s has been the perfect intra workout for me. I wouldn’t get the eaa’s from there though they taste like asshole. Myprotein has great eaa’s

Gatorade does have dextrose in it but it also has sugar. I'm not gonna lie I drink a lot of fruit juice and Gatorade but will soon be switching to better sources because I have only recently learned about fructose. I just straight up can't eat all my carbs from food sources! Idk how people do it. 210 (280 on a good day) grams from rice, 200-300 from other sources (liquids, pastries, maybe pizza, etc haha)

Blend up oatmeal and drink it

I get the big tub of raw Quaker Oats... put into blender dry and blend it up. It turns into powder. Then pour in water or milk or whatever other ingredients and blend again.

So yes, raw.
Awesome, how is your digestion?

do you use steel cut? Or regular?

Here is a little preworkout drink tip for you guys....1 teaspoon of pink Himalayan salt mixed with preworkout. Those veins will be busting out like a mofo!!!!

I might try doing something like this with cream of rice cereal. I have been using that Axe and Sledge Demoday carb powder but it is pricey. 1/4 cup of cream of rice has 35g carbs-0 sugar. It is already almost a powder. Don’t know how soluble it would be in cold water without cooking it though, or how fast it would be absorbed into the bloodstream?

It’s been a while since I’ve done it because I’m not bulking and I prefer to eat my food.. but I remember digestion being fine with it. My girlfriend is trying to put on weight and she does it and is fine.

Regular.. or sometimes I buy it bulk at Whole Foods and when i do that I get the quick oats. Basically regular but they’re chopped up so about 1/4 of the size of a normal oat.

Do the 10lb bag of HBCD from truenutrition. It lasts forever and good price.

Not sure about the cream of rice raw.. too grainy
