Black Privilege

I find it very interesting that blacks who wanted desegregation so badly are now the ones on college campuses screaming for “no whites allowed” safe spaces for themselves. So is it really about wanting equality? Or is it about something more?
Just like i don't attribute racism to ALL white folks, you shouldn't attribute Desegregation to ALL Black folks...not accusing you...it's just not a healthy path to take

More than guns..

Africans are now also reckoning with their own complicated legacy in the slave trade, and the infamous “Middle Passage” often looks different from across the Atlantic.

Records from the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database, directed by historian David Eltis at Emory University, show that the majority of captives brought to the U.S. came from Senegal, Gambia, Congo and eastern Nigeria. Europeans oversaw this brutal traffic in human cargo, but they had many local collaborators. “The organization of the slave trade was structured to have the Europeans stay along the coast lines, relying on African middlemen and merchants to bring the slaves to them,” said Toyin Falola, a Nigerian professor of African studies at the University of Texas at Austin. “The Europeans couldn’t have gone into the interior to get the slaves themselves.”
yes, i know there were African traitors to their people...greed knows no color...my point is...there was a market for it in the first place...you can't sell if there are no buyers

Not just then.. check this out .. this is going today.. but this goes left unsaid and hushed..
so much for black lives matter.

Africa just recorded the highest rate of modern-day enslavement in the world.

Armed conflict, state-sponsored forced labor, and forced marriages were the main causes behind the estimated 9.2 million Africans who live in servitude without the choice to do so, according to the 2018 Global Slavery Index. And despite these practices being widespread, slavery has remained a largely invisible issue, in part, because it disproportionately affects the most marginalized members of society, such as minorities, women, and children.

Slavery was especially prevalent in Eritrea and Mauritania, where slavery has even been, at times, an institutionalized practice. In Eritrea, for instance, the one-party state of president Isaias Afwerki has overseen a notorious national conscription service accused of drafting citizens for an indefinite period, contributing to the wave of refugees fleeing the country. Workers that have claimed that they were forced to work in the nation’s first modern mine are also currently suing the Vancouver-based mining company Nevsun that owns a majority stake in the mine.

Like i wrote, Greed has no color...there are some truly evil people in this world...that doesn't make the fight for equal pay, fair sentencing and police brutality any less relevant...

And for what reason would that be? there are some black folks that harbor generational hatred for whites...because the way there ancestors were treated... those stories were passed down, read about, poll taxes, blacks in TX being kept in slavery for 2 YEARS after the civil war ended...whites only establishments, police abuse.... that shit leaves SCARS.... because as far as i know the vast majority of white people in this country came here of their own free will...you can't discount history when convenient for you....it's what shapes our present. I was desended from slaves, but in my family we have professors and business owners( like myself), but that doesn't happen for everyone...and it's foolish to think that it's a given just because it's 2021...So yes some blacks folks are still angry...and some have gotten past it...I don't discount either experience
Sounds to me like you are rationalizing hatred when it’s convenient. I don’t see any other group who has been enslaved and mistreated by their majority making as much noise as there is today about reparations or racism. Yes, there was and is definite racism against blacks in this country but again, this is human history as well and you’re trying to justify one hatred of a racial group but not the other.

Less relevant? Of course it is. You and your family have a roof over your head and warm food to eat at night. Not to mention we had a black president. BLM is peanuts compared to what’s going on in Africa. Please.

You're missing the point...People are dying HERE...Death is relevant no matter where it happens, and when it's unjust you need voices to speak up for that..and that will never be wrong, or less relevant

Anyway i'm done with this...i'm going back to doing what i come to this board for, weight training info and supplements

Death is not so relevant when blacks are killing blacks. Where is the outrage or is this okay?

Wow...quite a few racist Pieces of shit on this board....i think i'll take my BLACK ass elsewhere

Yeah please do us a favor and leave if you do not like the truth....I'm not even white and I say that black...especially young fatherless male blacks have a major issue in this country and that is the hard truth.... I came to this country with nothing and worked hard and still working towards my goals..never relied on the government or anybody..never blamed whitey on anything...just working on improving myself and bettering my future.

I mean it is pretty messed up and irrelevant when people are pointing to Africa. And race isn’t a non issue like some people pretend.

But at the same time all this mess going on now is a distraction. People voted for Trump and wanted secure borders, didn’t get them. Got worse. Didn’t look at the real problem.

Going along with BLM, a co opted and corporate sponsored “movement,” same thing. Very few people even act like any lives matter any more. We’ve got to start there. Because this political stuff is demonic.

Then you understand nothing that was written for pages, and i don't care if you aren't white...this was about a piece of shit making a sweeping generalized RACIST statement about Black folks and i wasn't about to let that ride, just like you wouldn't if some made an ignorant crack about your ethnicty...father not being in the home doesn't mean "fatherless" and i know MANY black men who didn't let that get in the way of reaching their goals...and that fact that you think that is the ONLY reason blacks have had to struggle in this country since the 1600's means you are part of the problem...no one is asking for a handout in this thread or playing victim...instead we have ill informed stereotypical posts like yours ... you work hard, CONGRATULATIONS...folks have been working hard in this country for centuries... in every ethnicity, maybe if you take your head out of the white supremacists guide to: why we think black people complain handbook...you wouldn't make ignorant posts like this....I don't even know why i'm replying to you since you seem to know little of US history...and why the OP would set me off

why do i bother but ok... just because the media doesn't show you outrage..or people trying to find solutions, doesn't mean there aren't any...It seems some of you white guys are quick to believe the stereotype...but not do a little , just a little research before reaching for the " Black On Black crime" trope...I volunteer for an organization, called: That Suits You...and there are MANY more

Didnt say the Conservatives are good.
Just better than the alternative.

Let's just face it

These options I've stated arent on ANYONES to do list.
I am all for resources being allocated to Schools in poor and working class communities, and for expanding financial aid for college and trade school for the poor...but that doesn't seem to always be the case

I'm just trying to explain to you why that is some folks feel that way...as far as " noise" slave owners got reparations for lost slave labor, Japanese Americans, were compensated for being put into interment camps, Jews were compensated after world war 2, and given land in Israel that displaced many Palestinians. Native Americans make " noise" all the time for their rights...but no one listens...which is why tRump felt bold enough to revoke the reservation status for about 300 acres of land of The Mashpee Wampanoag tribe in Mass this year....because no one listens to their outrage........i know some of you guys don't like it, but Black folks making " noise" is how we got this far in this country, its
our right as citizens...deal with it

@Dresden The problem and disconnect here is that there’s a lot of anti white shit nowadays and white people who don’t pay attention just kind of take it out on black people in a reactionary way.

I mean really, black people were here longer than white people on average (a lot of Europeans moved in in the 19th century), and they’re the only ones who didn’t choose to come here. I detest anti white shit, and there’s a lot of it, but sometimes people just use that as an excuse to get stupid. So that’s what that is.

I get that...its just the sweeping stereotypes of Black people as a whole that pisses me off.....especially on this forum
