Vertical Diet, who's doing it?

Hey meso, so I've recently started the vertical diet. I'm loving it. Makes things so easy and straight forward for me. Also, since I'm a trucker I've always struggled with cold "real" meals with meat while I'm on the road but this steak and rice cold is good af. I'm always hungry and ready to eat again. I'm up to 6xs per day with the little add ons here and there and usually have dinner with my wife and eat whatever. What do u guys think?

I used this prior to hiring my coach and loved it. It got expensive AF though.
Cool I'm glad u had success with it. Honestly i think it's going to save me money with as much eating out as i was doing. What kinda meat did u like best? I'm having good luck with London broil at the moment

@Mac11wildcat when it talks in ounces for the meat, is that raw or cooked weight cuz i got a little food scale today and measured out raw how much i needed and the cooked weight is less.

go by the raw weight. because different cooking techniques yield different cooked weight, ever so sightly.
for instance, baked chicken breast is a little different than cooked it the crockpot.
and keep track. take a 1lb raw, cook it however you like, and then weigh it and take note.

I have always used cooked measure. It’s just way easier.

Either way works if you hve a protein goal and account for the weight difference. Cooked meat is obviously more protein dense per OZ than uncooked.

i think its the opposite.
1 lb raw chicken breast is about 80g protein, 5g fat. when i cook it reduces to about 12 oz cooked. basically you're accounting for water loss.

Yes. Meaning cooked is more dense for G protein per oz because there’s less water contributing to the scale weight.

Rice has arsenic. Just sayin’

This is true. It is somewhat of a concern for those that eat a lot of rice, and that makes up a huge portion of the vertical diets food suggestions.

However, white rice has less arsenic and that is the suggested type for the vertical diet. Washing your rice prior to eating will remove a lot of the arsenic. Using aromatic rice like jasmine and basmati is best. Using filtered water is also a good idea.

Can someone remind me which foods aren’t trying to kill me? IMO this risk is overblown, and I’ve noticed it mentioned more often recently.

It's being mentioned more because it's getting worse, unfortunately. Pollution, pesticide use, etc is an issue that just seems to get worse.

I agree to a certain extent that it's overblown for the average person but bodybuilder diets are not average - most people eat maybe a cup or two of rice a week if we're not talking Asian ethnicity... We might eat cups and cups a day every single day for years. That's where the concern comes in. The vertical part of the diet can push you up to 1000gr of carbs a day mostly from rice. That could definitely catch up with you.

The thing to keep in mind is that our bodies will store heavy metals so they build and build in concentration over time.

This is also a risk with bones / bone broth. Animals (chickens even) will have a buildup of heavy metals in their bones. Make a bone broth and you're now ingesting much of the released heavy metals.

Theres also the constipation factor with a rice/meat only diet (among other things). After a few days Im plugged up...its an incomplete diet IMO ....
