Mesorx is getting sleepy

Meso seems to a board that self censors, as in the members here will put a poster on blast pretty quick.
If we called out a member for being a dick as quickly as we call them out for being a schill, we'd have a friendlier board.

There is a recognized bias against positive reviews. And a bias in favor of negative reviews.

This means that honest people who post legitimate reviews could be falsely accused of being shills. How often does it happen? 3 time out of 10? 5 times out of 10? I don't know.

By the same token, dishonest people who post bogus negative reviews may not be called out at all. How often does this occur? 3/10 times? 5/10? I don't know either.

It happens. The system is not perfect. It is still arguably much better than the alternative.

You may be much less like likely to order from a good source. The important takeaway is that you will be much less likely to order from a bad source.

When you go to other boards the same sources have open feedback with members and it really works nicely. I think what sets MESO apart and why I only use this board is because of how harsh they actually are on UGLS. Quiet a conundrum

The "source boards" represent the alternative. It may seem like it "works nicely" on the surface. But it has it's own set of biases.

There is generally a bias in favor of positive reviews (from both honest and dishonest posters) especially if the source is favored by a moderator or vet with "status". Similarly, there is a bias against negative reviews (from honest and dishonest posters) when the target source is favored by mods/vets. Most importantly, these biases are enforced via moderation.

Mods/vets are known to have their own pro-source agendas. And even the most honest and trustworthy vets are prone to making mistakes when it comes to censoring/deleting (mostly) negative reviews as well as (sometimes) positive reviews. The more moderators in a forum the more chance for corruption. A casual review of a censored forum will give the appearance of one that "works nicely" but that's only because there is a lot that is swept under the rug in the name of moderation.

How about some type of system where threads that get tangential are somehow labeled as such when searched?
this wouldnt be censorship, and may reduce redundant threads, as well as spare people the turn off of some the several less civil threads i try to wade through in search of the truth Meso can provide.
There's no easy solution if a solution exists at all on an uncensored forum.

It would be nice if Google or some other search engine created the ultimate algorithm to solve all our problems by filtering and returning only useful results to our queries. It would be a difficult challenge for a team of content curators much less an algorithm.

Defining "useful" is not as easy as it sounds. Some of the most valuable information may be contained in the "less civil" threads. This is often the case. Ignoring these threads could be a mistake when searching for the best answer to your question.

If you are willing to invest a good amount of time on the forum, you can create your own internal list of members and categorize them into groups who provide: (a) what you consider to be useful info; (b) useful info combined with noise; (c) mostly noise with some useful info; and (d) all useless info.

You can customize your forum experience by placing members from any of these groups on your "ignore" list. Placing a group on your ignore list would remove all of their posts plus any responses to those posts.

This can be a tremendous time-saver if you don't mind losing some valuable data.

Okay its over. I just noticed that our board has drastically slowed. Not looking at the stats, I'm looking at the forums. you don't need s weather man to know which way the wind blows.

So I wanted to throw this out for lively discussion. At the least we had a
new thread to post in no?

180+ responces in a few hours. I think we all want what's best for mesorx, and we all contribute in our own unique ways. lets make this positive.

Back to the iron brothers. Iron don't lie.

@Big_paul, I have to respectfully disagree with you. This forum being unmoderated is why we all come here. I was a part of many other forums before Meso and I cant count how many times I either had comments deleted or was banned because I went against the boards mindframe or "sponsors".

Yes people do get rude and dig into new members here for asking dumb stuff like can I get a source on their 1st post. Or when someone asks a question and gets mad at the answer. But who wants these members here anyways?

The key is quality, not quantity. And I think Meso is still getting good new members.

If we have any form of moderation here it opens it up to more and more. Then we will be evo and Millard will start taking and selling SARMS. And no one wants that.

Realistically Meso is self policing. Its up to the established members to keep it going. I bet if you speak up when a member is being "mistreated" people will listen (unless the member is Slaton, then fuck him).

No censorship is needed. The entire point of this thread is to avoid censorship my friend.

It water under the bridge.:)
We are all family. No one can deny that.

I respect everyone who has shared their ideas on this thread.

i have a specific suggestion related to this topic

as a newbie i want to use the search function to gather information when i have a question about aas use

my time is very valuable to me, and although I am not an expert in aas I am in other areas and when people waste my time with crap they cant google for themselves it drives me crazy

i am very happy to help others if they care enough to try to study before asking me things

when i use the search function on Meso i end up with a lot of threads that have a great deal of side talk which distracts from the valuable info people offer in the thread
I end up reading pages and pages of roided up shitheads calling each other fags back and forth which WASTES MY NUUB TIME

im hesitant to post new redundant threads, but searching to perhaps find the answer can be hindered by all the BS

I use google with site:thinksteroids.com added, then when certain people in a thread diverge from the issue I'm following I click on their name and select Ignore. If you pick the obvious instigators, replies to their BS will also be automatically removed, so you don't have to ignore a lot of people to get a clean thread.

Thanks, I was unaware of this feature "ignore"
Now that I think of it, any type of system which flags or labels threads or posts a certain way would in fact be a kind of censorship
In such that some person or persons would have to determine which info was labeled this way and would be in a position to create bias

I am curious to what extent people here utilize this ignore feature

How many people are you ignoring? Does it concern you that you're missing out on valuable info as a result?

I don't ignore anyone continuously. I reset after I'm done reading a thread.

Only the losers are not out eye balling beautiful women before they bundle up for winter.
That is what I hate about winter (everything else I like or can tolerate). But it makes spring and early summer tantalizing.

You should come out to NYC in that case. Women don't care what the temperature is like out there. Their dressed to kill at all times lol

I need winter to survive. The summer here in the northeast is way too fucking hot for human survival.
Pshh
You don't know hot friend. Before you get all mad at me. I lived my entire life in the most emperical state of them all ;)

I'll be spending my winter days swimming and wearing sandals here bwahahaha

I've been to the Middle East quite a few times. I know hot lol. My last trip we had a day that was 117deg with 80-85% humidity. Talk about a death sentence.
